Metal Gear is simply different and a different experience.

Games that are already quite old (except Peace Walker), were significantly upgraded technically, and the result is impressive.
MG1 and MG2: Solid Snake are unchanged and therefore rather for nostalgics.
While there are a few little technical quirks, but this fall is not great consequence.
Hideo Kojima has nich created with Metal Gear only a completely new genre, but also epic games with a huge and credible story, recognizable characters with strong personalities and challenging gameplay.
