I had this camera pulled at my Rechergen shortlisted and have not been disappointed! Here Sony has installed a technical masterpiece in nondescript housing. And I never wanted a camera of Sony buy (because of licensing disputes with Open Source, music rights, etc.). As a comparison device I had my SLR Nikon D7100, which is indeed very powerful, and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ61EG-K which was also in the purchasing choices. Due to the high noise in low-light area, the DMC-TZ61 fell quickly through the test grid! It also has the much smallest image sensor test. As helped also no effusive reviews of various alleged users! The sharpness of the RX100 II convinced me above all by an extreme detail reproduction that I have otherwise only be achieved with my big Nikon (with 24M pixels). It has now become my "Move Camera". So I do not have the Nikon 2kg carry in their luggage and get real professional quality of the RX100 II delivered. Incidentally, Sony has updated the firmware to fix old problems with the focus motor. So far I had recorded no problems during operation. This camera is certainly a great choice when quality counts and an SLR is simply too complicated and too large. I can recommend them to be honest!
