Always on the move (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Jeez, I've been looking forward to this album. "In Color" was the best of three really good albums of the boys from Hamburg with Bremen import for me. I was curious about what to expect here. Above all, because the history of the album is not exactly rosy and I lack the credibility of the reporting. Suddenly bassist Florian is no longer there and the only reason the band is that he had chosen a different path. The longtime fan would have been interested in more detail, however. There are also two solo trips (by singer and guitarist Kris Hünecke Johannes Strate), which is not exactly behaved as successful as gunslinger. But now it says: "Always on the move" - I'm curious.

The opener is already known by the download (nice PR story ...) and already the sounds different than the gunslinger of the early years. A mind is content not to recognize musical just pretty new. Okay, a matter of taste. Track 2 is then the first single "That can take us no one". Even now a thought creeps from the spinal cord to synapse ... sounds kinda pretty soft, pretty soft. Almost as if I had somewhere heard that before. But after all, makes me the beautiful text content and happy at the live concert convinced me of the song also. It follows "bands of thy youth" - the content is clear and yet to me it all looks a mystery. It is lyrically about that one misses the old days and the old bands and the radio only comes Electro. Strange ... Why the bass drum by the drummer is then generated almost synthetically and a synthesizer takes place? After all, one indeed gunslinger to a band that played on the radio. "I'll leave the light on for you" is again a pretty easy number, but valuable content again. Up to this point I would say - yea, okay. But now true abysses:
"New start over", "Let's go", "We throw our hearts into the fire" and "stop losing myself" are handy to bustling the worst numbers of the band's history! Cruel arrangements, often lyrically void, a synthesizer here, a piano there. Dear friends, I would you remove so that you liked myself if I do not the lines of your debut album would still floating around in his head. ("Forget the Pop-S *** and come along with us." Or "A decade after Guns'n'Roses we are at the start, we spiel'n hard Rock'n'Roll (...)") Where today is the generation rock? Was it at the end may be better to add to the record boss and the commercialism yet? And why does Strate a solo album that allegedly contains personal songs and music does not fit to the band when it then create songs like "Summer in Sweden" on this album? The four boys slowly squander its credibility and not to bring back even by a flowery Album review as a product description (see above).
So far, the album would end up with me between 0 and 1.5 stars ... if it not still a few bright spots admit: "Behind the same New York" is a great song, finally finds sometimes a slightly crunchy guitar course , And my favorite song on the album is "Your close hurts me"! Even here the drums is generated completely electronically, it does just 1 guitar and you have more synthesizers can no longer accommodate. But this number is completely content quality. If Strate sings "The years have come and gone, I am more and more lied" I'm on the heart and for the moment I can see sometimes on the Pop-grid away when at least text and vocals! The album closes with "words that remain," which lyrically again is very good, but I immediately think of Coldplay has ...

CONCLUSION:
What can I say? Of the old gunslinger is not really much left. Silvermoon has led the way (their last album was to "Yes" absolute commercial garbage), pull the hamburger to stretch white. I am disappointed and I wish nothing more than that the band to their old roots will back me. Certainly I understand that a band matures and change musical influences. But the pop-S ***, they once rejected so is very clearly audible here. For absolute fans and radio listeners to recommend without doubt, to reconsider for the fan of previous discs and penchant for rock really seriously. I want a quote from "Behind the same New York" short remodel: gunslinger was a cosmopolitan city, and now they are only a village ...
