I had downloaded to me recently this "filler" for less than three euros (including all DLC) on Steam in special offer.
Since the first part of Diablo I play every now and then like Hack'n'Slay in between when they are as well done. I was really very pleasantly surprised and have it played out directly. That reminds me a pearl would be nearly escaped because "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing" is in my opinion but rather unknown or is in the flood of new phenomena from previous perished something ... and totally unjustified!
The graphics, for example, is very nice and exceeds that of Torchlight2 by far. The gameplay is "loosely by hand" and the control is very easy. The Van Helsing scenario is sometimes refreshingly different because it plays at the time of industrialization. At first you choose between three classes. The Thaumaturge can carry no weapons, relying entirely on his magical abilities and "dirty tricks", the Hunter comes optionally with firearms or with sword into the fray. Then there are the long-range combat specialist, the "arcane mechanic".
Each character plays a little different and will be adjusted by a talent tree the next Level. The hero has a ghostly companion, namely Lady Katarina. The has everything to say and involved the heroes regularly in very funny dialogue. She complains, for example, that she had not eaten in over a hundred years, as a beggar to 50 gold donates because this was so hungry. Lady Katarina level up with the own hero, has its own talent tree and its own inventory. Likewise, one can adjust, how much% from life energy, a healing potion to be taken which items are collected, etc ... like in Torchlight2 goes the clutter even sell for a while which you can comfortably make his next Level.
The opponents are also very different and imaginative ... and many ... very numerous. So one has occasionally a much larger crowd is loving ass than a. It wait epic battles against a small white rabbit (... how cool!) For it, of course, the corresponding weapon is (the infamous "killer rabbit" ... how cool!) And questioner end Irrlichter, tentacle creatures and other lower creatures.
The whole game is full so full of little secrets and Easter eggs (chicken) and has a great sense of humor. The soundtrack is also really great, fits as the "chalk and cheese" and after a few hours a real ear worm.
So, I liked it extremely well-liked and I can think of only a few points of criticism. The maximum level is reached at Level 30. From the trap system in the defense you could have done more, so it looks a bit fake. As a pure play time for the solo campaign, including all side quests and reaching the level cap took me in about 5 hours, so it's quite short. This not is not sufficient in total, however, here may be deducted a star, especially at the price anyway.
And if a man can do with the above two, the Adventures of Van Helsing must not be missed. I'm really looking forward to the second part, which is in fact already in the starting blocks. Just the right game for in between, if at times the ESO servers are patched.
Conclusion: For the price of two Snickers there's nothing better!
