Transcend JetFlash 300 - 16GB version

I bought in the summer of 2012, a greater amount Transcend JetFlash 300. There were at least 10 items with 8GB, 2 pcs with 32GB and 16GB with 8 pcs.

These sticks have all become unusable within a very short time.
I actually bought the parts in order to play music while working in my craft workshop can, without lasting CD-Switch.
I use this a Fantec AluMovie connected instead of the CD player to a standard amplifier.
In itself, this device is working properly and has until now always play all files (wave format) free of errors.
The Transcend JetFlash 8GB and were read without complaint. The almost all still function properly.

The 16GB COPIES However, all MEANWHILE broken, OR Was it RIGHT FROM THE START ALREADY.

I have all once described them then to use only read manner. But that's not long possible.
Initially only single directories are no longer legible and non-erasable. Gradually, then everything disappears.
If you were to format the new drive, he would again about 3 weeks to read (I have tried).
Then the digital dementia begins.
Obviously, memory chips were used here in a big way, the cells already after a short time discharge itself (Should usually happen only after more than 5 years).
Individual files are often no longer usable after 2 to 3 days.

I have today (June 8, 2014) disposed of the last two of these virtually unusable parts.
Have all been replaced by 8GB sticks of Toshiba. The work without complaint and even cost less (2p. It costs at P .... n in Pförring just 9 Euro).
But (I bought it more than 20), the JetFlash 300 8GB sticks Transcend work up to 2 pieces still all properly.

That's why it bothers me again and again that the USB flash drive reviews are mixed for all memory sizes.
It occurs, not even rare that only a memory size is affected (in this case, 16GB) from lots of failures. You must then laboriously correct Reviews looking out to make a halfway clear picture of the situation can.

When Rainbow Line Intenso is also the 16GB model (gray), which has been evident particularly badly made.
The model with 2GB (orange) but with me is already in use for many years (10 pieces - 2 of which are used almost daily since 2011). They're for the price range incredibly fast and durable. Are all still good and I never had any problems!
The unreliability of this type of memory (also SD card) seems only to have increased from a size of more than 2GB.
I never thought a few years ago that I would be happy even to be allowed to call a lot of old 2GB USB sticks and SD cards (Made in Japan) my own.

Based on experience with USB sticks, which I made in the past few years, I am now gone over to only 4GB sticks (with few exceptions) to buy.
The described and secured in parallel on a good DVD (made in Japan). The DVD is for archiving, while the stick is used to constant use. If this is important data, this also on an external hard drive (not SSD) are saved!
For larger files I use USB sticks type Transcend JetFlash 600 (not only quicker but also more reliable than the 300) with a size of 32GB. The security of these data takes place on 2 disks.
So I kept the data material at home comfortably and safely, yet always and everywhere at hand to hand.

If I need the same data over a long period repeatedly, then I format the USB flash drive every few months and write the data on it again. So I hope to be able to power losses (self-discharge by more or less large leakage currents within the cells) that lead to the illegibility, counter within the memory cells.
