By having this in mind, let's see some characteristics:
- The sound first, since it is still at the base of what is required to a car radio.
I use the basic setup of my car, or 4 HP + 2 tweeters. I added a low-end box, usable under the passenger seat. The result is amazing quality. The settings are varied, of course equalizer but also adjusting the position of the user. Settings can be differentiated according to the source (note: only one setting "custom"). In short, the sound is very good. Apparently, the outputs "amps" are powerful, + 5v announced, but I have not tested.
- Radio reception: no visible problems with regard to me, 3x6 presets on FM, the classical
- Bluetooth connection: phone
A wired microphone is supplied. The parties hear me well, I understand that. The car radio allows you to access easily to the directory and call log of your phone, the interface, without being extremely sexy, is clear and functional. Nickel
- Bluetooth connection: Audio
You can safely distribute audio streams (google music, deeezer, walkman ...) via Bluetooth. An option to change the base volume of each sound source to avoid too large differences according to sources. With an application (telephone) coded properly, the name of the artist and song is displayed, you can move to the next song / previous smoothly. Again, no significant problem.
- USB Audio / Video
A USB connector is available in front (and rear, USB extension cable supplied) allows you to stream music or video stored in USB. I have very little tested these features, so I will not speak very briefly. You can scan the contents of the USB drive for inclusion in a database (artist / albums ...). The playlist (smart) can apparently be created on the PC. On the one album that I put on key, the wallet was not displayed. I did not look further if it was due to the radio or to my files ...
The videos work (so I guess the DVD too, but I have not tested). Default Warning you can not view the videos USB (and a whole bunch of stuff) when the hand brake is not applied (or if the cable provided to detect the hand brake is not connected). Fortunately, it is very easy to tweak ...
- Video DVD
Not tested, but apparently there is full of options (virtual surround sound, broadcast on the rear screens disseminating other audio content on the front speakers ...)
- Video AUX / INPUT
Several video inputs / outputs are available, eg to connect screens at the back, or entries. One is specifically designed for a reversing camera. It is automatically activated by the passage of the reverse. Effective
- GPS: warning, the car radio is not equipped, basic, a GPS module. You must purchase an optional controller. I say this just to make things clear.
- Telephone connection (App Control)
Well here is special. Two types of connections are possible (via USB)
The first mode uses AppControl application (available on android and iOS except error). Your phone becomes a remote control that allows to fully control the unit (volume, radio stations, equalizer ...) while spreading the sound from the phone to the car radio. In addition, the unit displays an interface for launching applications on the phone
My opinion: convenient, but a little odd with a 2DIN car radio. Finally, the unit's display is not used much since the whole point is to do on the phone screen. In my view, this type of connection is more useful on a car radio without screen, which was then controlled via the phone screen. Or maybe it is for the passenger.
- Telephone connection (MirrorLink)
That's cool: the screen of your phone is displayed on the car radio and control your smartphone by typing directly on the screen of the receiver. MAGIC! (Nothing more to say) ... By cons, only a few models (high-end) are compatible. I tested the Sony Xperia SP (not officially supported, but functional despite numerous crashes) and the Sony Xperia Z1C (and there is nickel)
Magical, well, almost, since the only problem now addresses this receiver: its resistive screen
-l'écran touch
The screen is not bad XAV602BT: bright, matte coating (but still reflects a lot of light) without proper definition fabulous. By cons, it is resistive, not capacitive like most touchscreen phones / tablets today. It is not enough deffleurer the screen, you must press it lightly. It's not nearly as responsive as what we used to use. So, the management of the phone via MirrorLink, scrolling in long menus is far from clear while driving. An apprenticeship is necessary, and keep in mind that you can not do ANYTHING as well as on a capacitive screen
In the end, my opinion is very good on this unit: excellent, many types of connections, enormous opportunity. By cons, we must be aware of its shortcomings: no GPS phone without proper resistive screen, but not excellent, no interface (no) configurable
