Also from the DSC-HX50 I had the impression in advance (advertising) that this stands out from the whole mass, and so I did, of course, eagerly awaited.
First of all; my expectations were not disappointed, I find that the HX50 is an excellent camera.
Even with slight weaknesses but the overall package (it is a superzoom) perfect for me.
Much has been reviewed and technical data can be read elsewhere, so I confine myself to the essentials for me.
From the design can be seen at once that this is a Sony.
Impression of quality and workmanship are almost perfect.
The facilities to be proud of where I now am not necessarily the guy who has to control a camera with his smartphone.
For me the important thing is the image quality, that's what matters.
And just at a superzoom it comes in this regard sometimes smears.
Not so with the HX50.
I must admit that I expected here after my first test shots (interior Portrait) something more.
The first impression (on my 27-inch monitor) was great but when zooming into the picture clearly lacked the sharpness of detail.
When I am thinking of my "old" HX5V, hmm, was different (we saw an engraving on one eyelash hair ;-)).
The more I got busy myself with the HX50, the better were the images.
You get into existence also portraits, where one really sees every pore.
In Soft Skin Scene Mode course not.
Also macro shots masters the HX50 outstanding.
The absolute strength comes but only during daylight hours (weather permitting), or shooting in or into the open air.
Here the HX50 has excellent picture quality, striking is the very good sharpness and excellent contrast.
The color reproduction is superb.
I have direct comparison photos with the Fuji FinePix F770 made (which is also very good), the Sony HX50 definitely has the edge.
For example, I had blue sky with clouds in the picture. The F770 was only a few white clouds in the HX50 you looked different shades (shades) of the clouds.
The dynamic range of the HX50 is also incredibly well.
The superzoom.
Also a very variable thickness of HX50.
Even at full zoom, the image quality and sharpness of detail is outstanding.
I have photographed, for example a church spire (500m as the crow flies), the details are incredible (Photos are available at the customer images).
The image stabilizer makes (Sony standard) perfect work.
The video mode.
I do not know any digital cameras that have a better video mode than Sony.
Even my HX5V in 2010 was worlds better here.
The HX50 is this line faithfully and filmed in FullHD with an incredibly good quality.
Here, of course, also contributes to the, already mentioned, excellent image stabilization in.
To conclude, the above shortcomings.
Shooting results in low light conditions and, accordingly, higher ISO values Forden in the HX50 more detail sharpness than other (very good) cameras.
I assume that the 20.4 MP here their toll (noise) Forden.
But that falls on only when zooming into the picture, because see yourself "rauschige" images in Normal view from top.
Conclusion:
I'm not entirely clueless and had many digital cameras in my hands.
The fact is; the Sony DSC-HX50 is for me the whole package excellent superzoom.
With these shortcomings, I can live with, because that I have other advantages.
I can recommend it with a clear conscience!
