The bottle Applejack smells, immediately after opening, first by nothing that has already surprised me. And the taste is similar vacuous - not even an approach of apples. A fairly neutral alcohol taste, without its own character. If one inspects the label closer, one is no longer surprised that then: proudly write the manufacturer on the label "A mixture of 35% finest cider brandy and 65% neutral grain spirits". Oh well. The taste of the whole then stop also. Adulterated vodka, if you want to be angry.
Even the cheapest Calvados, which I had found in a French supermarket, smelled and tasted more like apple and had times as much flavor. Ultimately I will therefore likely be reversed Haigh's recommendation, I had mentioned above, if a recipe calls for Applejack, take prefer Calvados. And if the intention is that a neutral alcohol enters the glass, take prefer vodka, the one just gets easier and much cheaper.
A big disappointment and it is guaranteed planned no need to buy - for the money I already get a reasonable Calvados VSOP.
PS In retrospect, I have learned that there is also Applejack 100% apple brandy that is not so massively blended with neutral fuel. I assume that my comments on these "bonded" Applejack, I have seen unfortunately nowhere to buy not true.
As with all my reviews spirits is my intention: to drink no more, but better.
