When I got to the local Media Markt tried the HTC 8X about 30 minutes and had to find that the unit is not only easy to use and intuitive, but also is still a very pleasant flatterer, I could not resist and have to buy the device easy.
I have the equipment now in use are a few days and am just thrilled.
For device:
I opted for black, although the blue (rather violet) is also a very nice color. The color and shape of the HTC 8X fit perfectly to the tiles (tiles in Windows 8).
The 8X has with about 130g a very pleasant weight and a mat on the back you can see fingerprints. Unless you have fat fingers :)
On the front we have the Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which I after the days of a more solid impression makes the glass as the iPhone5, because there I had after 2 days already fine scratches in the glass. The glass is relatively seamlessly enclosed by the housing, allowing the device to act without edges.
The internal memory with 16GB volume is not expandable, thanks Skydrive but this should not be a problem.
The Software:
With Windows Phone 8 Microsoft creates finally connecting to iOS and Android, so at least feel in my! One reason for a Windows Phone was already rearranged PC at home, all running with Win 8, which I am very happy for me.
In connection with the free Skydrive (similar to iCloud at Apple) and Office 2010 to create a nearly seamless synchronization between Windows Phone and Windows 8, what my work just enormously facilitated in the office sector.
Music, pictures, documents can be quickly copy either by connecting the iPhone to the PC and moved to the appropriate folder or one puts everything via Skydrive available. One as additional software is NOT necessary for this!
The operating system is running very nimble. You have everything at a glance and the tiles in the UI size and placement can customize.
Many of the tiles are live tiles and show direct information.
The AppStore:
Here opinions differ greatly. Some say it Microsoft will fail because few apps are available.
I am, however, disagreed, because all the really important apps are present and functioning. After switching from iOS to Winphone there are so far only 2 apps that I do not have on the Winphone, but this is bearable! Also, I am sure that we will meet some apps here.
My Conclusion:
With minor flaws, I tend to vote from 4.5 to 5 star.
The device is impressive in processing and Windows 8 on the smartphone is simply the only thing that can convince me in this area at present.
Update 20.12.
Now, after five weeks now intwnsiver use I yet again decided to give away the HTC 8X. The main reason was now but the battery performance.
I was initially under normal use about 1.5 - 2 hours ago so go read the output, however, enormously more use for.
Mostly, the battery lasted not even more 1 day which can be quickly critical if you travel a lot. This, unfortunately, I have to cut back the vote.
But since I'm in love 8 in Windows Phone is here now Ativ S, which withstands hopefully longer.
