Start by not being too bad:
The display is comfortable enough to visualize the catch: it's worth the viewer grandpa and the youngest can put your fingers without putting at risk the slide. OK
The external power supply is a standard power supply for USB. So you can win a trip to charge your MP3 or tablet. OK
Let us come to the point:
The picture quality and use? Bof! ... The first tests were rather disappointing.
The interface and menus are folk. How to return to the main menu to switch to USB after scan? Switch off and on again! That's all I found: the document is silent on it like the rest.
Presets are surprising: it rasterizes excessive and even at a ratio of 25% on the screen, there are the pavements (with an Epson V330, you will no problem to the level of graininess of Hektachrome). Colour rendition is adjustable in summary form, but you will not avoid the passage by retouching software as the contrast is strong and should be regularly crop because death often picture on the cover.
Thinking that maybe Rollei had placed a 9 megapixel sensor behind a bottle of ass, I checked with a test optics clear: I placed a flat film I had just scratched the film holder. Thus it eliminates any problem due to the purpose of shooting: the scratch is perfectly clear ... and perfectly pixelated! I fear that the 9 Megapixels are achieved by a very basic interpolation algorithm processing an image to 3 Mega ... The compression is not at issue: I managed to get the same quality files to third weight.
In short, no miracle waiting, and defects can not be recovered by a post-processing of any kind.

Let's face by making a slideshow on your screen with your vacation slides, you will always see as much by watching old 9x13 prints in an album, especially if you had bothered to bring out the slide projector and that they are snapshots that you do not look at all. So it's nice ... I do not ask more. For Graphical User (enlargement, publication, professional use ...), look elsewhere.

In short, it is "friendly" and generally fast (capture is much faster than scanning the same quality).

Too bad Rollei did not foresee the possible updating of the software via the USB connection: presets levels could have been reviewed and improved. I'd even be content with less big pictures but less (mis) handled by the software house ...
