The speaker comes in a really great package. So far this is the best package of Philips I held in my hand and it gives already the sense to keep some quality in her hand.
When unpacking, of course you will find the speakers, the power supply (with our plug and UK plug), a yellow gezwirbeltes jack cable (the cable could not fit in some cell phone pockets, because it is quite thick top rum. But you can each jack cable to the LS use) and the Quick Start Guide.
The speaker has a rubberized finish in a dark gray tone and yellow speaker grille, which in my opinion look very chic and underline that the unit for both indoor and outdoor use (please note the device is not waterproof).
He simply makes a valued and particularly robust. At the top of a rugged carrying strap is attached to wearing very simple. The strap can be removed by the way.
At the front of the speaker is the on / off button, the volume + and - buttons, a microphone and a jack input and output, this feature I'll be right back.
On the back there are two charging interface. Charging Once a round connector for the supplied power adapter and a micro USB port for when you're on the go, this extends a 5V power supply with at least 0.5 amperes.
Then there is still a delete button for Bluetooth devices that have stored the device and a knob of between two sound modes switches (indoor and outdoor).
The Delete key is to delete the Bluetooth History since. The speaker is able to store three Bluetooth devices to a quick coupling to allow. If a fourth device are coupled, the oldest will be replaced. But you can also hold down the button and the complete memory is cleared. Here, do not forget to remove the speaker and from the phone, otherwise the re-coupling is 99.9% are not working.
When you turn on the speaker to switch blue flashes. This means that the device is in search mode. Once you connect to the button lights up only blue and there is a short beep. In operation lights on the back of a small lamp green (device has enough battery charge) or red (device goes straight from).
Pairing is very simple, turn on device and press search in the Bluetooth menu of the phone and connect.
Once you have connected it can already go. Music easily turn on and see what the little box so can. The sound really knows to please, benefiting no glaring high tones and a good size for the bass range of through the rear mini subwoofer (passive radiator). An installation close to walls is recommended, as so the bass range is pushed something and not lose. So far, the speakers for me is one in its price range to the best representatives.
Let us return to the Sound button. That's my opinion quite important because it changes the sound dramatically. I prefer to date the indoor mode, as this is a little stronger and the tweeter is not so to the fore as the outdoor setting. This setting is in fact there to implement an assertive tone, if a lot of people are present. But the bass suffers significantly and for me it is a little too bright. But tastes are different times now.
Now to the jack sockets, of which there are as gennant above two pieces. Name An input for all the users that no Bluetooth devices you own and an output for other speaker SB5200. Yes you can see the speaker in series off to realize a larger facility. According to the description, should be the first work in the series as a switch that adjusts the volume for all. I could not try out the feature, unfortunately, because I have only one speaker. But because of an already sounds good, I think it's a great feature.
The sound from the input jack is fortunately super. It seems a small latch amplifier to be installed, so that you can hear via jack at a reasonable volume. Many other Bluetooth speakers for that is not so well implemented. The Bluetooth mode will incidentally himself directly as soon as a jack cable is plugged into the entrance and the On button lights up white. This is also a great thing, because this can directly go off playback, which sometimes is a bit more complicated with other speakers.
The battery has persevered with me uncharged out of the box 6 hours, the device is thus already well summoned and the fun can directly go. A charging via the power supply took me about 2.5 hours, and the speaker was at medium volume (which is already pretty good) by 9 hours. Let's see whether he in the coming months even unpacked. The charging via Micro USB I have not tested it, but the guess it takes almost twice as long as on the circular connector.
At the front a microphone is still built, this is (who would have thought !?) to make calls since. The call must be accepted over the telephone and will be launched. The speaker has no way the phone in any way to influence, except volume. The voice quality is perfectly fine. I was well understood and did everything super heard from the opposite side. We tested all at about 1 meter distance and the Micro was turned towards the mouth.
I can conclude only recommend the SB5200. The sound is great, the battery charge is completely sufficient and is not a lie. The speaker feels valuable and makes a very robust impression. Has a well-implemented jack connection and the ability to be connected in series. All in all a great device which has been really been a pleasure and still is. Those looking for not huge and great Bluetooth Speaker, here should definitely take a look at it, it will be worth it!
