However, the Fuji-Cam is not for the pure automatic clippers; to be able to exhaust the best picture quality, really have to incorporate a little bit.
With me is the 'test phase' almost complete and I describe here once briefly my impressions:
- Purely automatic mode
The pure automatic mode is not used with me. Here you can make any corrections Manelle what does not bring satisfactory results both outdoors as well as indoors in my view. The Cam tends here mE also very strong overexposure.
- EXR Auto
The EXR Auto is here already much better. Here are obtained when shooting outdoors pretty good results, with the cam automatically selects which program (portrait, landscape, macro, etc.), the images are made and the automatic also decides whether the HR mode, DR mode, or SN mode is used.
For interiors this automatic mode, however, is also not recommended, as the results here are more often 'suboptimal'.
- EXR SN mode
Indoors I do with this mode; because the cam (if they must) try quickly to resort to high ISO values, I have this limited in the preferences on AutoISO 400. In very difficult conditions sometimes AutoISO 800 (the noise behavior see below).
- EXR mode DN
For exteriors can be obtained from my experience, the best results in this mode. Again, I have the default on AutoISO 400 and the dynamic range of 400% pre-determined. For landscapes, I prefer the type of film 'Velvia', representing the colors a little stronger and the image can appear somewhat se 'crisp'.
Depending on the focus and the light tends F70EXR a slight overexposure. With EV -1/3 or -2/3 but this can be corrected well.
- Pro Focus Mode
This mode is 'like a DSLR' at protraits ensure greater depth of field. As far as the background is suitable for and a clear contrast between the subject and background exist, this effect may well be proud of, but rather in static shots with clear outlines. In individuals Portraits usually occurs more or less strong areas (especially around the hair), where the software probably do not know exactly which pixels have the motive and which belong to the background. Overall, I would describe the mode rather than gimmick, the more hardly likely to be applied in practice.
- ProLight Fashion
Here four images are consecutively shot directly and charged to an image. 'Wobbling does not apply' is the motto here. The scope is thus limited to static subjects. In very difficult lighting conditions the image noise but actually reduced significantly (despite not changeable ISO setting of 1600). This is 'compared to recording in SN mode' at the expense of detail. In poor lighting conditions the results are partial but still better. The best shoot a comparison photo with the SN mode and look at the individual case that comes better.
- Noise performance
Well, the noise performance is 'compared to other compacts' quite useful, even if no miracles can be expected. Unlike other cameras (eg Panasonic FZ 7) the internal noise reduction of the camera (software) uses much less. That's very positive. Although the Panasonic FZ 7 rushes though not significantly more, but this is just only achieved by the internal noise reduction more aggressive going to work here. This leads 'which does not happen with the F70EXR pleasing' to muddy images. For the camera size, I would describe the noise performance overall as well. On the quality of SLR cameras it is certainly not ran, not even approximately. The noise until ISO 400 is quite unremarkable, at ISO 800 quite acceptable (for prints 15x10 cm definitely still useful).
- Display
Although the display is not particularly high resolution, but adequate in every case. Even under difficult lighting conditions and lateral view, the motives are still visible. Compared to my Fuji F20 is a very clear improvement!
- Video
Without long words: Those who value video qualities, should be of the F70EXR's fingers. Here it is not contemporary in design compared to other compacts.
- White Balance
The automatic white balance works well erstaunich. Am I in a compact form in the so far not known. Even when shooting indoors (artificial light, etc.), there is little reason to complain.
- Wide Properties
The distortion in wide-angle are tolerable range, although certainly not likely to belong to the top group here. The camera has a slight edge blur, but they are also acceptable.
- Zoom
The 10x times zoom is the 'jewel' of the camera. For a camera of this size it is amazing how good results can be achieved with the full zoom. Thanks to the image stabilizer camera sharp images can still be 'shot' from the hand in the high zoom range.
Conclusion:
Anyone looking for a shirt pocket suitable camera with large zoom range and do not want to dispense with a wide angle, is correct with the F70EXR. Who can do without the zoom range, which should be better access to the F200EXR, which is somewhat better overall by the image quality.
