Before discussing the positives of this lamp, I would caution against the name "USB Charging" in the manual, which may suggest that the lamp is rechargeable. There is nothing, it is imperative that it be permanently connected to a current source (computer or electrical outlet). Knowing that for the computer, it is necessary that the outlet provides 1000 mA (most laptops do), USB cable to connect it is ~ 1.4 m.
The light is powerful enough but not tiring, through the provision of a system that dims the lights. It's well thought out, because the LEDs are usually pretty violent for the view and to work.
The ability to vary the lighting on 3 levels is well thought, this fits what you are doing. It illuminates with a touch system, you will see the different possibilities in the video below cons.
The system is sold "Zero electromagnetic radiation" but I did not test not having the proper equipment. If this is the case, it is seen.
Question consumption, indicated 3.5 W but I'm skeptical, again I did not test, but however the LEDs consume very little and this will in any case much less than an incandescent bulb or halogen. So it is very environmentally friendly.
The cable is 1.4m and according to location of your computer this may be right, but the supplied power adapter also allows you to plug into an electrical outlet so no worries.
Personally, I use it to DIY as assist lamp because:
- Its clamp allows me to fix everywhere
- Its flexible arm allows me to adjust in any position
- Its variable brightness fits no situation (night / day)
Thus I have the most useful and I am delighted.
