John Green's debut album is hard to beat (even if he himself is then done with "Paper Towns" yet). The Nerd Miles replaced at his own request for the last two school years on a boarding school and his life finally begins. Particularly fascinated by Alaska, the smell of cigarettes, forest floor and vanilla, which is strong and not like on the mouth and he still can not see through. Miles and Alaska are looking for the meaning of life by using the last words of famous people, the essay topics of religious instruction, of talking with friends, the exploration of boundaries. Miles overlooks the fact that in addition to the light-heartedness and a lot of self-destruction in Alaska infected and sets out to search for her secret. This book stands out for its successful atmosphere that expresses beautifully the state of mind of almost adults. On the one side are the school pranks that combine Miles and his friends of childhood, on the other hand, there are cigarettes, music, alcohol, death, search for meaning, for a way out of the maze, friendship and love. Linguistically, the book is very well done. And anyway very successful. All around. DFTBA.
