I like to run shoe models from different manufacturers, so that the foot is not accustomed to a single model.
So the 890 ordered and tested. I have the blue model with yellow laces and yellow N on the side surface. Looks good, not too bright visually well done.
Then the fitting. Similar to the Asics DS Trainer maybe you should rather choose a half size larger than usual (but please try it yourself). The shoe is gratifying easily. It is much wider than the DS Trainer of Asics, but sitting still good at foot. However, he concludes by wide fit up at the bottom not one hundred percent I collect from me while running frequently times a stones. For runners with wider feet but probably a top choice!
And then you have no ball and chain: the men's model of NB 890 weighs only about 220 grams on the scale. By comparison, the Asics DS Trainer 18 weighs 265 g.
Also, the shoe design like: Large mesh surfaces that carry away liquid well. This applies of course in both directions: In the rain it is also humid inside quickly. But then you walk halt the fast runs with water cooling ;-)
The NB 890 is lightly steamed and supported, just right for me. So a bit of cushioning, I quite like and the support in the shoe is very unobtrusive. The shoe roll-off action, the impression is very good and promotes a fluid and fast running style. The sole is grippy even in wet conditions and has thankfully no large open spaces where dirt and stones could fix.
Running in the shoes was not necessary for me. From the outset, the shoe fits. No blisters or bruising after the race so I like that!
Conclusion: a very good shoe for light to medium weight runners. Suitable for competitions and fast workouts, including a half marathon. I myself would not shy away from me to wear the shoe for a marathon.
In summary, the advantages and disadvantages from my personal point of view:
Benefits:
+ Super comfortable fit
+ Lightweight, yet moderate cushioning / support
+ Successful styling
+ Faster shoes for road and rail
+ Suitable for wider feet
Disadvantages:
- Relatively expensive
- For narrow feet not the optimal model
For me, outweigh the benefits, an instant favorite shoe. From me a strong buy recommendation for light and medium weight runners!
