So far so good. A few hours later I had the first time, the values on the iPad app read: temperature inside and outside corresponded almost my calibrated reference instrument, the humidity was 10%, however, the outside and inside even 16% higher than my reference station. These differences did not change even after a good week, so I contacted the Netatmo Support. Apparently, this problem is well known. The support calibrated me within a few days, the indoor and outdoor station exactly on my benchmarks towards. Great, I thought, but a hook now had the whole thing: the hygrometer outside now worked up. 90%, then it was over. Even though I wrapped the outdoor sensor with a wet rag, 90% were always displayed. The measurement curve seemed downright out of cut. I could not explain the beginning and went from one technical problem of, so I can give me a replacement station from Amazon, and the first sent back. In expectation and hope that this measurement error would not now be in the newly delivered Netatmo station, I was very disappointed again. Again, the deviation of the air humidity levels greater than 10%, both inside and outside. And this time I also the indoor temperature sensor 1 ° C less indicated than it actually had. That was enough for me to determine, first, that the built-in technology is not very high, and secondly, using a post-calibration, the solution can not be brought about. Therefore I also have this station again returned to Amazon and get the money reimbursed me for the time being times.
Found I that Netatmo weather station looks very futuristic, the app and the web interface convince on each line and show the most important values to very clear. Warnings as storm, rain, wind, frost, etc. will be sent as a push notification on the iPhone or iPad, and also an evaluation of the CO2 value was new to me, and very informative. This value is namely moved me to the room to ventilate frequently to avoid headache caused by bad air from the outset.
All this is really very positive, but the best software helps nothing if the hardware (ie sensors) and thus the readings that. Once 16% and even 10% deviation at two different stations proves to me that the technology is immature and erroneous. Not even any inexpensive recalibration because the measurement range of 0-100% is then no longer given. In reality, however, the sensor spits out the same false values as before. And in the wrong measured 100% minus 10% for example correction value is then calculated at 90% final.
I think it's a shame, because at such a high price you would expect to quality, and that is unfortunately not entirely given. Why give so many positive reviews but I do not know. Probably questioning those who incorrectly displayed hygrometer values not even, or there are actually devices that function correctly. In any case I have received two defective stations, and ultimately both sent back.
UPDATE 1 (10.20.2013):
After a complaint mail to Netatmo was told that probably both stations would have to be broken and I pray may again be ordered from Amazon a station so that the French company Netatmo can prove that the weather station is very well "quality". So I thought, OK, I'll give them another chance because if it did not work again, the station is again back to Amazon.
The third station had already included an updated manual, but the package itself was still the same, where 4 were batteries (rather than the weatherproof NWS02) indicated (instead of 2) and the NWS01 module as an external unit. Tried, waited a day to have leveled off the values. And I must say, it's not perfect, but worlds better. The outdoor unit is working to within a few% at the hygrometer and the temperature is exactly the same. In the indoor unit, the temperature now fits, but the hygrometer values soft again by almost 10%. I will now plant one month test (30-Day Return Policy on Amazon) and then make my decision ...

As a playful art fan I open frankly almost every day the app and values of the data for me. I compare the values with the previous days and the weather forecast mentioned seems very well be consistent with my data.
The Hygrometerwerte who would be hardly improved. I keep my current, third weather station nevertheless, since the product apart from me convinced hygrometer. Despite a damning indictment that the humidity sensor is delivered calibrated incorrectly at most stations, Netatmo does nothing against it, and obviously wants to sit out.

Now, after nearly four weeks of daily use of the "third" and a weather station (back) caused the internal calibration station to -9% humidity, I'm actually more or less satisfied. Interesting to note here is that I have also asked the same for my request for calibration, whether because after that would reach 100%. I then got the Netatmo support the unequivocal answer: "... in the interior can be reached anyway not 100% humidity, so I should not worry ..." Unique gehts unlikely. The true answer is therefore NO. This confirms my suspicion with the simple change of the measured values instead of a correct sensor calibration. On the other hand I admit Netatmo but rather because the inside station is in my living room and there the 90% mark is probably not nearly be achieved. Dear potential buyer: Take a calibrated reference station at hand and pays absolutely sure that the values of the Netatmo station are displayed correctly, because a calibration brings as mentioned only partially the desired success.

The weather station is now determined for about two months, all readings and apart from the problem of the station Hygrometerkalibrierung I can really highly recommend. Meanwhile, I have ordered a second internal module that is working properly and in the children giving good service. You would not believe what a bad air at night prevails there. Further offers Netatmo recently a world weather map, where all shared Weather Stations are displayed with their temperatures. Meanwhile, the battery of additional indoor module has lost some of its power, at least to me, the so displayed. The outdoor unit is, however, still in full "juice". The Netatmo of promised rain gauge (end of 2013) is still not on the market. From the anemometer on the other hand nothing is reported shame really. The weather station itself operates behaved as it should and helps me, the spaces to ventilate properly to regulate the heating to meet and compare the temperature over the last months. New Year's Eve were measured shortly after midnight about 65 dB in the living room. I'm not surprised that our 1 1/2 year old daughter had a restless sleep.
In summary, the values of the weather station are almost analyzed every day by myself and the global weather map of Netatmo serves me, me a bit to adjust to the weather for holiday or business trips.

The rain gauge is on the market, and of course he already went with me into operation. This is compared to the weather station of plastic, but has nevertheless a valued quality and especially built an accurate measuring sensor system (more on that in my review for rain gauge). In the app, the current (last hour) and the cumulative rainfall of the day are displayed. This helps immensely when watering the garden, because now I know if it has rained enough in the day or if I still have to help with my garden hose. The rain gauge is thus a nice gimmick, but not a must buy. In my eyes, but the Netatmo weather station with the evaluation of rainfall a bit "full" has become again.

A year ago, it is now, as I stood in front of the same decision as so many readers of this review here. Should I buy or not? Am I risking a problem with a faulty or hygrometer can I thus not absolutely live? For me, the decision was in retrospect the right, see it almost every day before leaving the house on the Netatmo App. I get weather warnings (sometimes too often), so I can make appropriate occasions in time. With the rain sensor I see while on holiday in Crete, that it has been raining all week at home by the SMS "What's the weather at home" I can therefore save me. I also know that it has not rained around 570 liters per square meter since the beginning of May and I can prove with numbers so that this summer has fallen in literally into the water. I see that is airing. I realize that I have to turn on the humidifier. And so on. In short, it just gives me fun and joy to analyze the data and analyze a little. The only criticism in recent months: the batteries when internal sensor additionally purchased were to swap already after half a year, although battery life is led by 12 months. However, two AAA batteries not cost the earth, the interior sensors are apparently correct guzzlers.
