With Raid Sonic and their products the Icy Box family I have had only positive experiences so far, so I bought the Icy Box IB-371STUS2-B S-ATA. The installation of the hard disk is used to simply, even a screwdriver is and it is not the lowest class of cheap plastic things.
The case is apparently designed that one should like to see in the picture set it vertically, or at least no rubber feet are otherwise available for the fitting. The lighting of the fan can be switched off at the back, if you do not need the lights. It is nice that the stand has rubber feet.
As far as I'm happy with the case, to accessories, the case was also very well equipped. (Power supply, screwdriver, USB cable, SATA cable). Points that bother me:
- The fan is quite noisy, I had imagined him quietly. At the front of the body you can feel a draft of cold air. A lower speed would certainly not be enough.
- If you have the case in hand, to pack it for instance, then you realize when you move as the hard disk inside gently back and forth "wobble".
- The lack of rubber feet to set up the enclosure and horizontally.
- Decoupling of the plate would have been nice too, so you can hear the hits.
I also have an Icy Box IB-351ASTU-B at home, the housing like it better because it has no (loud) fans, the hard disk does not wobble and has rubber feet to install waagrechetn.
Conclusion: good housing that is unfortunately heard by the fan. That's why only 4 out of 5 stars.
Update 2014:
Meanwhile, the fan control of the case does not seem to work correctly. Immediately after turning on is heard for several minutes, a loud roar of the fan. After several minutes, the usual, but I still too loud speed is reached again. Dust the fan is certainly not really a cleaning has availed nothing. Therefore, a depreciation over time.
