The much-discussed EQ-1 Tripod I personally find totally fine. Here I actually found more than I expected. It is stable, not too heavy, stable and functioning properly. That the entire telescope even at a light touch wobbles I do not interfere (can not imagine that it is even in more expensive equipment is not the case me). You just wait a few seconds and everything is wobble-free. The enlargement itself - come about as a max. 200 times - is already great, and for me and the kids more than impressive. To watch the moon with all its craters has so many neighbors curled on my terrace and the planets - if they have been found since then - actually recognize. The telescope itself looks from the processing and optics for some more out - friends guessed it on a 200, - / 300, - Euro device. The accessories are perfectly adequate for my purposes and up to a sun filter, I will no longer want to have. Only the search telescope is cheaply made - but that is in fast all devices up to 200, - Euro way. However, for the purpose of searching and the ausreichend.Sicherlich you get for money and more telescope ... but that it has not been worth it.
My tip: Meanwhile, I have a book, which I always pointed out when there is something interesting to watch again. This I bring the telescope from time to time out and it will not be boring for me and the kids.
My conclusion: If you just "time" with his children, his wife; Want to watch neighbors and friends in the night sky, the moon and individual planets is well served by the 114/900 by Omegon. Clear and sharp images with an already beiendruckenden magnification. On Details of the moon, I can at least no longer get enough!
