The Becherlupe consists of two parts, the upper cup, where the animals go in and the lower part with mirror and magnifying glass to view the animals from the bottom can.
In principle, the lower part of a good idea, but unfortunately only limited use because many animals simply climb up on the wall of Becherlupe and thus are poorly observed from below.
The upper cup alone is easy to handle for small children. My kids were in the use of both parts together once confused and never knew where they were now daily in order to see the little animal can be a bit. Older children are so well but have no problems.
I could not stop myself and had the Becherlupe ever try and advance secretly thought afterwards that the simple version might well have been enough. I have now decided to leave the bottom of first off. In the accompanying book, the Becherlupe is also presented without this base, so that children do not necessarily missing something.
