The tablet is for my application (occasional surfing, Mediesteuerzentrale to stream (rhino> stereo) and will bring my children to Tablet thought.
The rate is for my applications more than adequate, have experienced no stuttering in the browser even longer delays in program execution. Smaller games run without any restrictions, graphically rich, I have not tested.
One battery charge is keeping about 6 to 7 hours in continuous use with especially installed, surfing and many programs were tested. The device comes with a 2A USB wall charger. Full charging takes 2 to 3 hours.
After update of Lollipop are of the entire 8GB memory still approximately 4.3GB for apps and data freely, an SD slot is present Kate
BUT:
Since Android 4.1 Google disabled by default APP2SD function with which one can push up appropriate programs to the SD card. The manufacturer of the device, this can be realized but by firmware itself (as, for example, Huawei makes many devices). Unfortunately not so in the Trekstor. There native App2SD is not working.
Here is also not supported the photo app outsources the files to the SD card. Thus, the use of cameras wasted valuable internal memory even though you might have 30GB free space SD.
Overall, the SD card has barely an authorization for the basic functions (Google programs). Not even the offline language from google translator can be swapped out onto the SD card.
Thus the SD card increases the storage capacity hardly right for the system. You can actually z.Zt. are used almost exclusively for external up-played media. Only a few apps actively support the outsourcing of its own data on SD.
After installing my "personal" standard programs that I have used are also on my smartphone free of the 8GB is now only a little over 1GB.
I would recommend the device without restriction as a beginner tablet if clear is the 4GB of free space for Apss and data are sufficient.
Should it be possible in future to gain root privileges would also be the memory problem no longer there you can then move the apps via Link2SD on the SD card issue.
UPDATE 24/04/15
In early May was a ca 270MB major update to be downloaded, which has brought the system from Android 5.0 to Android 5.1. Unfortunately, the system still does not support App2SD also saves the photo app still no images on the SD card. The offline translation files from google translator (some huntert MB) still can not be outsourced.
-> My rating: SD card almost useless, with only 8GB of internal flash memory (of which only about half free) has the tablet too little space.
Dear Intel and trek gates team: if you already have a reference tablet brings to the market with only 8GB Flash, then it needs App2SD or alternatively to use a configurable root to ensure full SD memory.
