The Single Player:
The centerpiece of this disc is of course the eponymous addon that brings together some hours of gameplay in single player. Here, however, it should be noted that Undead Nightmare tells a separate story strand, while also developing its own atmosphere. This is my opinion, but not nearly to the almost perfect presentation of the main game zoom. Where in Red Dead Redemption an incredibly dense prairie is drawn that breathes the digital Wild West Life, spreads in this addon rather Tristes and (as it could be more) of the death of. The atmosphere is therefore also less wild west, but something trashy and gloomy.
The missions have also experienced this a severe damper. They are no longer designed as varied and offer no shootings, as you know from the main game. As the zombies do not fire back, but zustürmen especially the protagonists, it aims permanently at head height and firing at the enemy while you are traveling in reverse. Come the opponent then too close to the cozies, one turns around and erläuft some distance or switched on Dead Eye. The cover system is obsolete. Unfortunately, running just about any mission using the standard "Ride to a point, proceeds all enemies and ride to point b" from. The side missions are to decimate hardly different content than zombie hordes. Too bad, because you could Rockstar but have expected more creativity.
Quite funny is the idea of the undead horses. We know perhaps the phrase "a horse to death ride" ... It is precisely this danger no longer, but the horses are no longer plagued by fatigue and have endless endurance. In addition, they are faster and the four horses of the Apocalypse have an additional ability. Visually they know also to please. So you can with the burning "war" for example, not only as the Wild West Ghost Rider riding through the night, but also ignite any living being that dares to get too close.
But the single player remains at least one quality true: Quirky characters and plenty of swipes on American culture in excellent cutscenes. The meeting with the well-known characters are always among the highlights of the game, but the cutscenes really should not be the highlights, but they only take.
The Multiplayer:
The Multiplayer brings new game modes such as poker, dice poker or horse racing into "free play" and gives more motivation to work out some success. Precisely what I found important as the RDR Online mode has long tied not enough to bring its multiplayer Char on Level 50. Until then, they had already checked all the other successes. Here comes again at least some motivation to to move more in the online world.
Conclusion:
The addon is aside from the black humor is a surprising "other" addon. In my opinion, however, the zombies do not fit into the Wild West and the resulting changes in the gameplay does not convince me. From the action-packed Duck and Run system has become a Shoot and Run gameplay. The Wild West feeling has given way to a trashy pseudo-horror feeling, but in which will pay no creepy mood. All this seems strange and returns the actual main game too much back on. For the next Addon Rockstar should pick times when the quality of Mass Effect 2 DLC incentives. Here it is shown how continuing the main game through addons and it only requires a fraction of the money.
