When the phone was 17 days in my possession, I suddenly while charging a fine, single crack in the glass at the back. I wondered very much, because it was not overthrown and it is also nowhere tuned encountered. Not even in my pocket I carry my cell phone with me, but encamped there traveling in the wide and soft inner pocket of my winter jacket.
When I researched and Google questioned what could have it with this sudden damage on it, I came across reports of many buyers who had the same problem. A stress crack in the glass. A gross production error. Even the trade press has already reported on this "display gate" at Sony.
I contacted Sony and first spoke about the case on the phone a nice gentleman to the problem was directly known. He told me to send in there and do not be angry if I receive a cost estimate for the repair, because Sony is such cases if at all run out of good will about the warranty. I should then make an ex gratia application.
Goodwill? Sony wants to come to meet me? Sony ME? Of course, since the company must indeed admit a mistake, can even choose whether they iron out their error free or not. That doing the repair process still slow, the men in Japan seems well not bother.
My phone is now in days the W-Support and waits for the repair. Since 3 days it's up there. The repair status is still unchanged and you can not tell me, even if asked why my machine is now in the workshop instead of being finally repaired etc.
Conclusion: if you're lucky and there is no such production Failed unit purchased, you get a great smartphone. If you're unlucky, it has self-destructive skills, one learns from a Sony customer-unfriendly side know and are has for many days or even weeks, several hundred euros in any workshop and may still hope for Sony's "goodwill". Unbelievable.

The unit has been repaired by Sony and considered under the Guarantee.
Although I had to accelerate the process, as I threatened with a message at the Consumer Protection Office, but from then on everything went very fast and suddenly the phone was already repaired on the way to me. From a spare part to which one had to wait at the time reportedly even 14 days, was no more talk. It is therefore quite useful to make some pressure when the repair is delayed.
