I was especially interested Plex because the Marvell Armada 375 will be strong enough to transcode 1080p can. Currently the installation of Plex is only indirectly, which means that the SPK has to download file, expand the contained information, and then all have to pack again. This has not been really difficult, so I had a functioning Plex installed fairly quickly.
I Plex currently running with the default setting for video transcoding, which means that this is set to "automatic". As a client of my test served an iPad Air, the transcoded file was a H.264 MKV at 1080p and DTS sound track.
The first start of the video file takes me about 3-5 seconds, but after that it runs without any stuttering or dropouts! The CPU utilization is quite low, which is due to the dual-core processor. A picture taken during transcoding, I am attached to this report. Man have to say that I usually use the NAS only as a file server and Photo Station, all I do not need, I did not even activated.
What can I say, I'm totally satisfied!
