*** Size PROCESSING, ACCESSORIES ***
The fryer is very large, even larger than expected. In small kitchens (we have one) is so fast a massive space problem. The build quality is good, but the fryer consists almost entirely of plastic, which has given us a little worried at first (but which were unfounded). The transparent cover is very hot, but is also convenient, since you can always see what is happening in the deep fryer.
The deep fryer comes with a brief manual and a multilingual booklet with safety notes. We find it for environmental and space reasons good and important that now many manuals no longer be supplied in paper format and that a detailed manual can be downloaded from the Internet if required. The specified link has unfortunately (still?) Does not work, a manual for the similar predecessor but I have found on the Internet immediately.
*** Before the first use ***
Another reviewer has mentioned that he has used the fryer before the actual use with water. I found this to be very useful indication (is not in the manual) and have the deep fryer can run twice with water (10 minutes, 5 minutes) before I have it stocked with food. The fryer has smelled this 15 minutes very plasticky, but then the smell was completely gone.
*** USE ***
The operation is really easy, and you can not go wrong. We first made fries, this prepared with fresh potatoes and left for 24 minutes in the fryer. For 750g potatoes you need about a tablespoon of oil (3/4 of the supplied measuring spoon). This amount of oil we believe are quite spectacular. Of course, French fries are thus not healthy, but at least they do not swim in oil, and the enjoyment of these chips does not leave too bad feeling because you ate something terribly unhealthy. The fries were delicious: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
Later that evening we have then baked apple slices. This recipe can be found in the enclosed recipe booklet and was designed by me a little more varied (apples, dried apricots, oil, cinnamon and icing sugar recipe aloud, in addition cashews and dried dates). The result is simply delicious, finished in a little over 20 minutes, and something you can prepare quick for guests.
*** CLEANING ***
The bowl and the stirring hook can be cleaned in the dishwasher, which we found very convenient, which is almost not necessary, however, because even by hand, the machine is cleaned in no time.
*** RECIPES ***
The enclosed booklet has shown us that the Actifry is more than a French production machine. There unprecedented opportunities to try new things and to make his cooking life easier. The recipes are relatively heavy on meat, but also as a vegetarian we got nice suggestions. One can also download ('My Actifry' in Google and Apple shop) an app, but there were only a few more recipes (at least for vegetarians), but may come with time more and more.
*** SUMMARY ***
A deep fryer we never missed in our household. Now this has changed, because by the enclosed recipe booklet we have learned that you can not only make the Actifry chips, but can prepare great vegetable dishes, stews and desserts. I look forward to continue to experiment with the Actifry and try new things. Clear recommendation!
