As my quite very good Canton Front speakers a perfect height levy but by design rather have a weak bass. I have replaced my old Canton Movie 125 subwoofer against the Yamaha.
Equipment processing

The Yamaha NS-SW700 convinced directly by the great piano paint design in the form of a light pyramid of perfect craftsmanship and many thoughtful settings. The downward 250-millimeter woofer is powered by the 300-watt power amplifier inside.
The bass is excellent for any sound source of deep bass at any time all tempos whether multichannel movie the rock band or the orchestra play perfectly able. The precise upper bass output convinced me completely. Best you put even a Jurassic Park or a gladiator film as Blue Ray, it's really breathtaking when the Dinos suddenly trample through the living room or chase the horses through the Colusseum, just great as perfectly plays this beautiful sub. The Music Sender Deluxe runs with me on HD also here have seen a consistently perfect performance.
Below a fuller discussion of the technical settings and the optimal settings.
Connections
**********
At the back there is the classic mono connector for the amplifier and a second special LFE input with two inputs respectively R and L, if the amplifier can filter out high frequencies.
Here is made possible by a high-cut circuit better sound quality. There is then a Y connector needed to the mono cable from the subwoofer in R and L to split. The subwoofer has also regular speakers at the amplifier inputs if you no Sub Mono has output but has a second pair of output terminals for front speakers. One can operate with a second subwoofer to sub in a split solution.
The switch sensitivity can be adjusted from Off-Low to High, the switch with me on high stands as the Sub turns even at low volumes more directly with one.
About the phase switch the sound can depend on the position of the subwoofer improve to the speakers via REV (rewind) and Norm (Normal). By default, the switch is set to REV. One can choose the best position for REV (reverse) or standard (normal) then by hearing. On the top is the power / standby switch, volume control, the High Cut knob and a special Music and Movie button for audio and video material.

Recommended settings
*************************
The optimal settings are usually achieved when one sets the High Cut control for the crossover frequency / crossover frequency to the max frequency of 140Hz, since most amplifiers automatically distribute the correct frequencies. In the sound test you can reduce by 20 heart then with unnatural sound or roar gradually.
So set the subwoofer level on the subwoofer to the 12 clock position 50% and then the amplifier at will adjust the subwoofer level, depending on the output source with the remote control, since the bass boost SUB OUT output eg Dolby 5.1 signals is much stronger than that of a stereo output, it is recommended that the level always adjust using the remote control, but to let these constantly fixed. For me, the level is always on the amplifier then between 8-10 max 20th
I have to stand by me through four sub special pyramids conical stainless steel tiles, thereby the SUB somewhat decoupled from the ground arise so the less resonances.
Conclusion
*****
This subwoofer fulfilled for me in an ideal manner all what I expect from such a device. He looks very chic can maintain good and is the perfect complement to a home cinema system. However, it also requires peaceful direct neighbors or your own four walls. Since the bass even at normal settings is more than strong, that can, however, adjust all the best.
