Mounting in the car:
The Kiddy is easily clicked with Isofix, but you can also put him in comparison with the Pearl so on the seat when in a car without Isofix times go.
Seatbelt usage:
The impact shield is inserted into a "rail", after having the child placed in the seat. Then carried the seat belt through the bracket to the impact cushion along, puts it on and takes him on the same way back. Here you have to overreach in the car, I'm almost not help myself on supporting the catch body, which leads to resentment in the child with 1,74m. It is therefore not strapped the child, but the impact cushion. This is strongly reminiscent of the principle of the retaining clip of a roller coaster. I'm used to the 5-point harness from the Pearl and have to say that I after a week Kiddy now looking forward to it, that this is coming back from the repair and I can banish the Kiddy in the second car. It just bugs me every time to contort myself so when strapping. Later, the impact cushion can then be omitted and the child is buckled up normally.
Feel-good factor for the child:
Our son is 19 months and about 90 cm tall. He copes well with the catch body, so he does not shout about it. However, I would want to undertake any journey with this seat, as long as he needs to catch the body, because it simply can not put his legs and arms are forcibly kept relatively high, above the impact shield. There is no right reclining position also compared to the Pearl. We bought the seat in the shop and have the possibility to Cybex Pallas looked at in 2015. I would recommend any one test it out here. For us it was so that our son was sitting much less squeezed in Kiddy than Cybex, although this is wider. According to the consultant in the shop compared to the Cybex is cushioned better. Regardless of the Pearl our son feels most comfortable.
Security:
I've read several times that younger children have slipped down through at impact cushion seats. To this end, I can not give any definite information, as I only use the seat one week. But I want to give the tip to make sure that the bottom of the child in clean setting is really quite behind and of course use the additional seat cushion for toddlers, then seems to be hardly possible to me.
Processing:
The seat looks very high quality. Since there is nothing to complain about.
Summary:
Usable + With and without Isofix
+ Long service life justifies the price reasonably
+ Good workmanship
+ High security through impact cushion system
- Buckle up is corrosive
- Child is concentrated on impact cushion slightly and has little freedom of movement
Conclusion: Due to the long service life it is a good compromise. The time in which the child is still small, is slightly affected by the impact shield, so the seat comes to us only questioned because it acts as a spare seat at this time. Those looking for only one seat for Group 1, is better off with a Reboarder / Pearl.
