Melody Road (Limited Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

My personal review of Melody Road

Packaging deluxe version: Hinged cardboard cover, CD in plastic tray.
Packaging Standard version: Jewel Case (plastic)

Booklet deluxe version: Removable 36-page booklet with all lyrics and chords to each song.
In the liner notes Diamond describes the creative process of the album.
Lists the credits to all musicians, and the persons involved in the production. Here I would have liked when to every single song the musicians involved were given.
Something strange is the fact that the two bonus songs was mentioned in the booklet with a single syllable.

Booklet Standard version: Without lyrics and chord progressions, otherwise identical.

Songs
The album lives up the name "Melody Road", because the songs are held consistently very melodious. Although Diamond is already 73 years old, he masters the songs with a convincing voice.

The songs on the album are very good overall and especially with Nothing But A Heartache or (OOO) Do I Wanna Be Yours Diamond has proved that he can still write great songs. In some songs the fan recognizes rudimentary parallel to earlier works. So there is a similarity of In Better Days to Sweet LA Days, Alone At The Ball at It's a Trip (Go for the Moon) and Sunny Disposition to Longfellow Serenade.

Currently, I have a little trouble with the song Marry Me Now ....

The two cover-bonus songs are not bad, but I would have liked at this point two Diamond bonus songs.
