General observations:
The visuals are very well done, I find and stands out positively from the pabulum from the there is many places. The processing is the price according pretty neat. The remote has a good size (not too small, not too big), key layout and keys themselves are designed so that they can (also blind) operate well. Speaker and system itself have the same dimensions which is quite handy - if you tip the LS, all three blocks at the same level. Or you can set the power module on a transversely positioned speakers when space is limited. Also well done are the various connections (RCA rear, line-in jack on the front, speaker cable at both ends normal cable ends +/- and thus interchangeable with any other cords, Bluetooth A2DP). The Bluetooth streaming works well, both of Android, iOS7 (iphone 5s), and the MacBook Air. Occasional interruptions were heard at first, but could be off after the wireless headphones was placed one meter away from the system (since so the system can nothing for it).
For sound:
The speaker (LS) are surprisingly compact / small, they get at least a little volume by the depth. So it's amazing what comes out there's in fact a sound. The signal that comes from the plant must be fully adapted to the LS (so no exchange neither LS nor the Investment possible). For the size of the speakers the sound comes quite low, I'd ddie lower cut-off frequency (-3 dB) value at low volume at about 60-65Hz, and also at 50 Hz you hear something else (but already much quieter). This reinforces the wisdom of the vast majority of music genres have sufficient depth. Anyway, at low to normal levels. Wenns is sometimes louder then, the bass no longer pulls.
The sound is otherwise relatively balanced, but high-frequency portions - whether it interferes with one or whether you realize it depends on what you're used to. About the sense of precision. of fast inputs / decay you need in the price region (unfortunately) not yet speak. It sounds pleasing total, suitable for music background sound OK, or to improve the TV sound with most flat screen TVs. Even at higher levels or maximum position has no obvious distortion in the sound, the system already sounds very strained and the depths as mentioned do not follow suit. Volume is likely to annoy for rent in most worried about evening the neighbors.
Enthusiasm for music or instruments may not produce the plant but. In my youth, 20 years ago you for comparable money much (!) Get poorer sound. And my experiments with Phillips-Mini sets newer (with subwoofer) date were less intoxicating than I can comprehend this Anlage.Insofern the many positive reviews already. If it will bear the budget, but you get offered for higher prices also significantly better sound. So when it comes not only to sing-along, and mood songs, but genuine interest in music, then other systems are accordingly advisable. Examples include genant here:
- The Yamaha Piano Craft systems if it is to be a full music system.
- The Audioengine speakers, if it should be affordable mini-active speakers
- The Nubert Nupro powered speakers if you're looking in small size quasi-reference sound with good P / L ratio.
But all the alternatives mentioned are not only expensive, but also greater. The smallest Nupro (A100) Speaker has already more than twice the volume of one of the Pioneer speakers. But but the result is just all a lot plastischerer, livelier music enjoyment.
Conclusion:
Despite the many criticisms 4 stars. Why? Because there are better alternatives in the price region and size just do not (known to me). And because the overall package size, price, service, functionality and sound is consistent and - if you bring the appropriate expectations - also convinces. For myself, the plant would be nothing. But my mother has fun with it, more than to the alternatives mentioned above, because the system just like the small size and visually appealing. The star trigger is in the hope that perhaps one or the other is going in and opting for something that sparked more passion listen to music, even if it means spending more.
