First Impression:
The epilator from Braun Silk-épil 9 Bonus Edition is very solid and feels good in your hand, as it is ergonomically shaped top. Even purely optical device in white design with small glitter particles on the front is very appealing. The Gesichtsepilierer has a slim silhouette, but is also very comfortable to hold and can easily be rotated in all directions and angles of the face. Both epilator and Gesichtsepilierer can be turned in two directions, with the direction of rotation of the forceps is determined by the switching-on movement. This is very well thought out in my opinion, because as a simple way can be set to rotate the forceps against the direction of hair growth.
Features and functions of the epilator:
- 40% wider epilation head (compared to other epilators from Braun): Through this broader epilation more space is detected in a train and thus enables faster epilation. Whether armpit or leg area, you have worked really fast all surfaces.
- Micro Grip tweezers technology: This new technology, the tweezers capture more hairs in a train. - Water-resistant and completely washable: The Braun Silk-épil 9 can under running water (for example in the shower) or in the bath to be used (see also Wet & Dry function.). Logically, therefore, a cleaning of the device incl. Its various attachments under running water is possible. One of the shower, I would rule out for me personally, but that all parts can be cleaned with water, of course, is very convenient and comfortable to use the device.
Features and functions of Gesichtsepilierers (in the Bonus Edition included):
- Slim epilation: The Gesichtsepilierer can be explained by its sleek and compact design similar to hold a mascara, making it extremely manoeuvrable. So hair can be removed on the chin, upper lip, on the cheeks or forehead easily and accurately. I find the handling to be very pleasant, because you keep the Gesichtsepilierer really relaxed and can reach every little place in the face with it.
- 10 micro-holes and 200 movements per second: The epilator has 10 micro-holes that remove even the finest hairs from a thickness of 0.02mm. He is with 200 movements per second faster and more thorough than manual tweezers. The best does it work if you, tones the skin area that you want to remove the hair with the other (free) hand. The first attaching requires some courage and costs overcoming, because the tweezers really fast and you turn the pain, at least theoretically already can imagine before one sets at all. After some hesitation, I then ventured and was pleasantly surprised. While it already twinge when even the smallest hairs are removed, but the pain is bearable and not nearly as bad as feared. However, one must say that the sensation of pain in the face differs depending on the lot. Chin, cheeks and forehead were with me personally not a problem, but at the upper lip, I had to clench my teeth. But this feeling is probably individual.
Epilation result:
The result of epilation is in my view both the epilator and the Gesichtsepilierer extremely satisfying. Many hairs are detected at once, so that the depilation of armpit area, legs and bikini line total only takes about 8 minutes. In the face you're done after about 5 minutes. In addition, I noticed positive that even the tiniest hairs are removed with. Under the arms and legs epilation is not unpleasant (although I must say that I have previously depilated and am therefore accustomed). In the bikini area and face it twinge quite nicely, but the pain is absolutely bearable. In addition, you will be compensated by the result of a wonderful (long-lasting) skin smooth and definitely has the unpleasant tweet quickly forgotten. So far I've epilated each again after a week, but after the 2nd week there were significantly fewer hairs than after 1 week, so I assume that the distances of the epilation over time thanks to the new Braun Silk-épil 9 grow. All in all I'm very happy with the new device and have already recommended some friends!
Compared to the old epilator:
Between my old epilator from Braun (the now over 15 years old), and the new Braun Silk-épil 9 are worlds apart! The technology has improved significantly and the whole handling is now much more comfortable. While the old epilator in operation mode rattles extremely loud hums of new evenly and fairly quietly to himself. The biggest advantage is that you are done much faster thanks to the wider epilator head and the new Micro Grip tweezers technology and can achieve a much better result. Were very short hairs not recorded with the old device, they are not a problem for the Braun Silk-épil 9. The first positive consequence of this is that the result for the moment much more higher (significantly smoother skin). The second positive consequence is the sustainability in that longer and shorter hairs are removed, the skin remains smooth for longer and the periods between the individual epilation be greater. And I also like the built-in SmartLight very good. Thanks to the small lamp is no longer sees even the finest and shortest hairs, which in turn has a positive effect on the overall result. I would urgently needed even at my old epilator!
