Customer Review

After much LG debacle (see my review for LA6608), gray full support on the part of LG, however, perfect support for the rescission by Amazon I have my LG by Panasonic ASW654 replaced in 50 and could not be happier now.

In my opinion, the ASW654 one of the best single is tuner (dual tuner triple there in ASW754) Full HD devices with passive 3D technology on the market.
Sure, the quality of the Panasonic equipment has suffered from the rigor and the competition from South Korea and China in recent years (back plastic, frame no longer made of metal, etc), but I've had either very lucky with my device, or it is simply complain at incredibly high level. The panel will be made no longer of Panasonic since 2013 but are supplied, if the quality control during the assembly of the equipment that is right for me no problem.

I have not even found on the website of Panasonic some technical features, that's why I want to make it clear this is best at the very beginning.

Lighting Technology
Direct LED, here the LEDs are including diffusers for better light distribution directly behind the panel which brings benefits as well as a few disadvantages.
Compared to my Edge Lit (the LEDs are located at the edges of the panel) devices made by LG and many other competing devices there are no problems with clouding, as this can not occur due to the relatively direct lighting. My 50 unit also has virtually no DSE (Dirty Screen Effect) and almost similar plasma black levels.
As a disadvantage, the generally slightly darker corners are worth mentioning, but as soon as a not entirely monochromatic image is displayed, it no longer falls on. Local Dimming there because of the relatively few lighting clusters not said at all, except Full Array LED devices anyway does not provide satisfactory results.
Edit: Note because of complaints of uneven lighting in other reviews: The larger the unit is, the more problems you get in general with the coverage and quality of the panel. For me, the 50 "he the greatest that I would dare without sacrificing quality than buying traditional TV. Will be slightly larger for films to get a home theater projector around and then at least one * really * big picture.

clean DLNA support and direct involvement of network shares
Unlike, for example, at LG of changing the tracks and selecting the subtitle on DLNA works wonderfully! LG had this feature removed later through firmware updates with reference to licensing problems and no longer exists in all current devices.
Also not a problem back and forth inside a coil File absolutely okay, actually that should be self-evident, but it is unfortunately not everybody manufacturers.
What is also not advertised is the ability to directly access network shares without DLNA (Menu> Network> File Sharing Settings).
HEVC encoded Full HD clips is not supported by the device, unfortunately, but that would be something requires a lot (can not even some UHD TV via DLNA).

Sound output parallel on all ports
Actually nothing special, only this is a missing feature for years in some other manufacturers' equipment. No choice of audio outputs, it is not necessary! Kopfhöhrerausgang (of course, with separate volume control), optical output and built-in speaker, regardless everything is controlled at the same time! Perfect!
The built-in speakers for rich normal TV operation and occasional film entirely of (clear voice reproduction). It seems to me that the comparatively low housing (~ 5-6cm) forms a very good sound body, it naturally lacks bass.

Are all apps and a perfect for me TV operation concept
No crashes, no stuttering, no buffer-hanger, just nothing. While this is partly due to the internet only had my LG at the same Internet connection (50 MBit / s) always problems with YouTube, because there the resources were not released clean and so influenced the cacheing.
The Home screens are fully customizable and not overloaded. Everything is self-explanatory and the setting options apart from Smart TV Apps and are truly stunning.
EPG information in the Home screen, when switching (anyway, but even that was at LG WebOS devices optimized out) are displayed as well as before the switchover. If you switch the channel with the cursor keys through, the current channel is selected (in times of long switching times for decryption of the transmitter which is very handy), the program continues, but you can the EPG from other transmitters scour for currently running programs, as well as following. Absolutely ingenious feature that is why ever not actively promoted and was exactly developed to use as a TV!

Listing Services export and import directly from the menu (Edit: only with DVB-S)
Unlike LG - which make available this basic function only via cumbersome hidden menus - here you can export the station lists in .bin format on USB, edit with eg Chansort and recoup.

customer-friendly terms and conditions
Where LG takes out like a bug data from USB to collect DLNA and other sources and people related to resell to third parties Panasonic is limited to point out that can be written to use features such as Apps and HbbTV cookies and evaluated (this is the way you can in the menu can be deleted again, exact analogy to the Internet use as well as with all other devices) and that the spoken voice recognition must be sent for analysis to a server (see Google Now, the device has for too little power).

super interframe
Low on the stage offers the Intelligent Frame Creation (IFC) of the ASW equipment very good results. No soap opera effect detectable and no Konvertierungsgeruckel with material that was converted unclean before the broadcast of NTSC to PAL. This is not, unfortunately, also not self-evident.

All in all, this is the perfect TV for me. So why still a Full HD TV for the price of an entry UHD TV buy?
It's simple: working software and thereby features that do not exist only on paper.
UHD on TV I feel rather than gimmicks and wonâ by manufacturers since believed to have the least a living room situation to which it can present UHD material provided either allows extremely close to sit in front of the huge TV (well below 3m) perceive to the detail advantage or alternatively at higher distance the money for a UHD TV are willing to put on the table 65.
In particular, many devices on the market are not really developed well thought out, so this only a HDMI 2.0 port (HDMI have 2.0 for me is a port that consistently supports all the HDMI 2.0 belonging standards ... lacking HDCP 2.2 or can not UHD full color space of 10bit 4: 4: 4 are shown, I refuse this as HDMI 2.0 hereinafter) or HDCP 2.2 is completely missing. Often the absolutely necessary HEVC decoder or these attacks is not missing at all sources (eg not at the Tuner).
General LCD panel problems such as poor lighting, Clouding, Bleeding (especially in Edge Lit devices) or poor display of moving pictures (inferior processing in TV) may resolve not increase the resolution of the panel.
For me the mere increase of the resolution in TV the wrong approach is to get better picture quality.
UHD on PC, VR headsets and home cinema projectors (diagonal + 2.5m)? Every time! On TV? Nonsense!

This pre-programmed trouble with UHD and a lot of free of charge in a really good TV this genre you can save with the purchase of a sophisticated Full HD device from the upper middle class as the ASW.

I do not regret a penny!
