The most positive feature in my eyes is no question of price. For currently about 280 here on Amazon (as of 25.07., In retail more expensive) you get a branded tablet with solid equipment, the Android operating system and expandable memory up to 64GB. Visually, the Tab 4, as its predecessor, a good figure, because the new material like the back and acting-quality than that of the predecessor. The Table 4 has also slimmed down a Weng, because it is about 20 grams lighter than the Tab 3. In terms of handling, there is also nothing to complain about.
The sound of the stereo speakers, which are left and right in the bank angle is, okay. For normal use, I think absolutely sufficient. Battery life, however, can be proud of (naturally varies always greatly depending on usage). For me, the battery on average held approximately 10 hours. The iPad Air is in terms of battery life to date with me still leader, with approximately 15 hours + some hours of standby. But the only time on the edge.
The greatest weakness of the tab 4 is undoubtedly the display, which makes itself felt again. The color scheme is indeed strong and also the viewing angle makes decent. What is missing is the display clearly on resolution (only 1280 x 800 pixels) and also it provides just 149ppi in the large 10.1 "version. Why Samsung in 2014, the successor to the Tab 3 again with such a weak display on the market raises, is beyond me. That's no comparison with other tablets like the iPad Air (2048 x 1536 pixels at 264ppi) or the Kindle Fire HDX (2560x1600 at 339ppi). And the performance of the tab 4 was me in convince any way. Most app commands are executed always delayed a tick and when the display rotation could fall asleep smoothly, so much time is required, the rotation from the vertical to the horizontal position and back. The back camera "shines" unfortunately only with disappointing 3 megapixels, what you see in each photo. The Frontcam does the rest, delivering a mere 1.3 megapixels. The Kindle Fire HDX or the Xperia Tablet Z2 beat in camera range, for example, to 8MP.
All in all, recommended the tab 4 so only partially, in my view. Sure, speak for this tablet in addition to the Samsung-stamp and the reasonable price, especially the erweitertere memory and the new Android operating system. Everything else is, if at all, only second-rate. The display is for my taste absolutely no longer appropriate for that size, and also disappointed the performance. The same applies to the integrated cameras probably are only there so that they are there. My conclusion: Leg rather a few euros more on top of it and get another tablet homecoming. 3 solid stars for the Tab 4, because that is this tablet ... solid, no more and no less.
