I first purchased it Christmas last year and was immediately impressed by the image quality. Light color as I was very impressed. And, although I have not thrown the image onto a screen, but only a simple plastered wall. The internal speaker is of course his name is not worth it, but can so, I suspect, have no other purpose than necessary to offer up a sound source. Cracks, is bar, in other words, not a state, look at the movies / Sport is fun.
What bothered me a bit (and still disturb, but do not know if the beamers always is), is that the film image is always slightly smaller than the picture actually generated by the projector, with the result that at the actually film image always around a frame remains visible. That does not fall when the image is very bright, but falls significantly on but when the scene is rather dark. Interestingly, it is different when I receive TV channels through the Skybox. Here the whole format of the projector is used. I assume that this has simply to do with the source, ie that films just have their format and are presented in accordance with the projector. If, if that's possible, only I have found, when the projector shines only on the wall, which is actually the source through there.
Now, unfortunately, the problems encountered, the let me ogle now therefore, return the device permanently and take advantage of this BenQ device entirely distance. The current unit is the third W 700, which I have at home.
Already the first Commissioning occurred here frequently cited in review Forum temperature problems. Unit shuts down and the TEMP lamp. Is several times happened, but has subsequently laid. Have still more or less after about five months of trouble free service for fear that at some point it out what's wrong, returned the unit and ordered compensation. This came immediately.
When unpacking, I noticed that the packaging of the new device was labeled Mfg. Date April 2012. stood to the Rev. 01-102 on the package. In fact the new device had the newer, apparently to correct the problem, software version.
Unfortunately, now the following occurred: Already when you first turn struck the initialization of the lamp fail, with the result that the projector was very loud and ventilated. Here, the LAMP button lights solid red and the POWER button blinking orange. After about a minute noisy cooling the projector finally went to and was normal. Below I could see that this phenomenon always occurred when I switched off the projector and immediately afterwards anmachte again. If he has not been in operation longer, however, he went on immediately. Even considering the fact that this illumination / color combination in the instructions on page 60 is described as follows
The lamp ignition retries if the lamp fails during startup.
I called then for BenQ Service. It said that this error really should not occur and that the projector is replaced.
So I have the Beamer returned for the second time on Amazon. Although the usual everything went smoothly, but is now my third W 700 not only with Mfg. Date Novemeber 2011 provided, that is older than the interim, but also has the numbers 00-102 under Rev. on. Although this projector now includes version 102, the software appears to be older.
The real problem, however, is that this projector (my third!) Has the described on page 60 of the manual problem in case of rapid reconnection. I have little desire to return the device back, but I am entirely unsure whether the device again has a defect or even the lamp just a little needs to be to get back turned. Of the latter, I'm actually not so, because it is described as a problem in the manual and also the BenQ service told me that the problem was not supposed to occur.
I would be glad if you also your projector off times and immediately afterwards on again, and the result can post a comment here. Maybe I learn so whether the phenomenon 'normal' is. If not, it was with BenQ! Thank You Very Much.
