I had in front of a Samsung BD-P2500, which has absolutely not made me happy in terms of the volume.
Even if you can do as a layman and especially lack of comparative players hard statements about the picture and sound quality, I must say that my expectations were fully met. The picture is sharp, natural and rich in detail, as I of a high-definition Blu-ray players also expect it. Also the sound is no cause for complaint. In short - I'm thrilled.
The workmanship and material quality is satisfactory based only on price.
Now I would like to come to the really important issues, which were buying decision for me:
1. Volume:
The reading of Blu Ray is acoustically noticeable, but much quieter than the Samsung.
Drive noise may occur analogously in the first 20-30 minutes to Samsung. However, this is a) dependent on the Blu Ray (partly there are noises, partly not) b) perceived only in extremely quiet scenes and c) very quiet, quieter than the Samsung.
The fan in BD35 seems to be temperature-controlled. I could see the fans so far only once in action, after 3h hours Blu-ray experience. When the fan starts up, you can perceive it only when the sound is off.
At Samsung, however, the fan runs permament and brings the whole body to vibrate.
I find the Panasonic as extremely quiet. Operating noise disturbing at any time.
2. DTS-HD as PCM over HDMI
The Panasonic is currently the only player that in addition to Dolby True HD decode DTS-HD Master and can output as PCM over HDMI. Samsung and Sony can pass DTS-HD only has an analogue 7.1 output. So get receivers that only have one HDMI 1.2 input, also to enjoy the uncompressed audio formats new.
Conclusion:
The Panasonic is for my needs - picture / sound / volume / price - currently the best player in the market.
