I have tried different cameras. In my test, I have confined myself largely on the image quality, the sound quality did not affect me as I go diving (no important sound) and sports such as skiing, wakeboarding or cycling (only wind noise) would like to take action.
For testing, I have the cameras in our aquarium (about 30cm deep, well lit and reasonably clean) sunk, on the handlebars of my bicycle tried on the road and in the woods and used poor lighting conditions in our cellar.

At the X7 I can only say: Great product !! Unfortunately, small weaknesses.

Image quality is as under water very sharp and clear ... as long as the camera is held steady. Image stabilization nil. On deise area GoPro slightly forward, but also gaining the prices. The forest Boder became a slushy monotonous surface and shocks and blurry images take all the fun out video.
Furthermore, I find the accessories very poor but to deal with the majority of manufacturers to more economical.

Conclusion:
Super camera Solage keeping them quiet. In almost all disciplines comparable to the GoPro.
Nevertheless, I recommend rather the GoPro (I was also not convinced) as there are very high resolutions here and operation via app is amazing.

PS: I tested the Rollei Action Cam 5s diving, the Fantec BeastVision, the GoPro HD Hero3 Black, the JVC GC-Addixxion XA2, the Contour + 2, the Sony HDR-AS15 and Actionpro X7. I could not decide the cameras, the Fantec however BeastVision by extensive accessories and acceptable video quality my personal price / value for money. Sony has the best image stabilization.
I'm still waiting for the end of September 30 and the Rollei S-50 which appear in mid-October on the Sony HDR-AS.
