So much for the band or the background of "Genghis Khan". Undoubtedly, the same pop song of the band, in 1979, spent several weeks in the charts and of course also be found on this CD, now achieved cult status and should be on every party - just as the piece "Moscow" ( my personal favorite on this Best of CD), a catchy tune, the good mood right away:
"Moscow - strange and mysterious Towers of red gold, cold as ice Moscow, -.. But who really knows you, who knows, a fire burns in you so hot Cossacks hey, hey, hey, empties the glasses - Natascha ha, ha, ha, you're beautiful - Tawaritsch hey, hey, hey - to life, to your health, brother, hey, brother, ho ... - Moscow, your soul is so great, at night there's the hell is going on , ha, ha, ha ... "
But the title "Pistolero", "Mexico" and "Hadji Halef Omar" come highly spirited and lively, while "Loreley" and "Rome" are somewhat kept subdued and quiet, as well as these pieces are, of course - like all pieces on this CD - absolutely worth listening to! All in all five star!
I The fact that this review 16 May 2009 created the date of Euro Vision Song Contest 2009, is really just a coincidence: Addendum.
