The main feature of this mixer is the shape of the glass jug. The fact that this is to the knives heavily tapered down to the Mixgut better bring in the knives circulation, which then can access me. After 2 weeks, my first assessment:
The JB 5160 has a 4-blade knife set, programs for smoothies, ice-crushing, soups and purees, a pulse level, and 11 switching stages that look like continuously by the fine gradation. The motor has a soft start, so not half the content first glued to the cover. The lowest level is sufficiently slow that one can almost speak of stir. Toll! The highest level then pulls quite true that in the middle part, even the view of the blade is free.
As I could find no information on the number of revolutions, I have the Braun Service written which were also promptly following response:
"Our stand mixer JB 5160 has 22,000 revolutions per minute and is not to be crushed in a position nuts.
Please allow us the following note:
Many customers judge the quality of the blender only due to the rotation values.
There are four basic metrics and properties, their interaction make a good blender:
1. The sharpness of the knife affects the fineness of Mixergebnisse - the sharper the knife the finer the results.
2. The strength of the engine influences the power and performance of the blender so that a powerful engine that allows itself to be crushed fruit crisp and powerful LeafGreen successfully.
3. The optimal combination of ergonomics of the container and positioning of the knife affects the circulation of Pürrier-good. Especially the combination of specially angled cup and elevated position of the knife allows effective circulation for perfect mix results.
4. The interaction of revolutions and container size dictates the relative speed of the mixer. An optimal adjustment of container size and speed of rotation allows the optimum crushing of different ingredients. "
So far so good. What particularly excites me is that the unit relatively quiet tinkers to himself. At the lowest setting it develops about 76 dB (A), at the highest up to 92 dB (A). Can endure it without any problems and sudden deafness, absolutely great compared to the other most!
The cover fits securely and keeps absolutely tight, but can be easily thanks to the tab decrease. Somewhat unfavorable I find the elongated refill. Here you have to watch for liquid bulk and general cargo's something which is tight. The cleaning of the nozzle is thus cumbersome. Still, not a serious shortcoming. The pitcher weighs 1943g completely, but is properly handled by the good grip, is used only in the recording of the engine block, until it clicks softly and thus ensures secure footing. The spout's hardly spills.
Disassembly as assembling is easy. A tip when assembling: only pull the rubber seal on the knife block, then this place on the jar rim and tighten with the plastic sleeve until it stops. Of course, this must be done with a little care, damits remains tight, but is logical! Where nothing can be done wrong here.
Mixed I have so far:
Fruit shakes / smoothies - good to very good results; finely pureed, with the smoothie program, sometimes even nachgemixt a few seconds.
steamed vegetables - very good results, finely pureed.
Raw vegetables - with too little water remains's glue on the edge. With enough fluids and dose adding it works quite well
Soaked almonds (Hab's still trying :-)) - as with the raw vegetables. With not enough liquid, the result is quite impressive, or you just stuffs constantly looking for (at a standstill!), But what is a bit tedious.
Edit 02/2015:
Dattelmus & Humus - since both are to be not as smooth, but rather firmly breieig is, the puree with some time spent connected, but since you often have to re-plug the blade mass. To empty the pitcher I Loffele sogut it comes out, screw the cutter block carefully over the container from and then scrape off the remains. However, I think that other bone are rather intended for such preparations. Since the result still be very good, so finely pureed, is, I see this as a "+" and not as "-".
Conclusion:
Anything that is not really hard, the muscle man proposes to a pulp. Perfect!
In harder Mixgut helps a corresponding amount of liquid to also good results.
The low volume is not to be underestimated positive factor.
And finally, the boy also looks really chic. Especially with the white blender as suits a symbol of 'ner half-eaten pear, or banana, or whatever it was ... ;-)
I love him!
