First impressions: very nice PCs, all flat and thin, beautiful quality finishes, no complaints at this level. The keyboard is magnetized and acts as 'cover' and thus tablet screen protection. The keyboard is still a bit 'soft' so fragile, but I like the quiet side and off the buttons, it's not a small keyboard glued to a tablet, no, it's a real keyboard and it's nice for typing text.
The PC is a bit heavy compared to an iPad-style tablet (it weighs about 900 grams). Side size: 11 inches is great for a tablet, suddenly the PC can be stored easily in a pocket and demand real protection when transporting. It's a got where I am mixed: the mid-mid, mid-mid tablet PC has requirements in terms of format, but suddenly we lose the benefits of the tablet in general!
Second aspect of this Sony Vaio Tap that seems problematic: speed. (1.2 GHz) It is not very fast, web pages load markedly slower than on my desktop PC or on any other computer in the house. It's a shame to pay still a fairly substantial price for a PC that is not very fast ... Windows 8 is a disaster, I think (but hey, I'm not the only one to think so) and we will have to do with when you buy a new PC.
Battery: I'm fine. it has sufficient autonomy, around 9 o'clock, which is not huge, so we must think of plugging in the evening.
Side Touch screen, stylus: again, I'm a little frustrated. The responsiveness of the screen is not optimal, and e did not like to manipulate the stylus, it is quite heavy in the hand. But it offers perhaps the graphic possibilities that I have not explored. Also the screen has a beautiful light, no complaints.
I personally use a PC mainly for writing and surfing the net. When we want to put this Sony Vaio Tap on the knees, it is too large and should put the remote keyboard, which is not optimal ... By cons, when you put it on a table on its foot the back of the tablet, with the keyboard placed in front, it works well.
Mixed review therefore, especially since Sony announced cease production of Vaio (laptops, and, I suppose, as these tablets / PCs?), Which raises the issue of guarantees / spare parts and possible repairs. A check before investing still a close enough sum of ultra-practical takeaway laptops like the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air from Apple.
