The connectors are located on the left side, this is convenient for operation on a shelf, in a ceiling mount back I find lying connections better, but is a matter of taste. In addition to two HDMI inputs, the projector provides a VGA and still S-Video input, and an audio input (jack). The built-in speakers are also more likely gimmick, but available for just in case. You can connect a PC via the mini-USB port and control using the remote control (at least during the presentation a page forward or back). Whether in this way can, however, also update the firmware, does not go out of the manual produced unfortunately, there is always talk of a USB B port on the other mode but you only models, not the P1510. So far, I could not detect any errors or crashes, but an upgrade option without sending in would have been nice. The remote also has a built-in laser pointer, along with the opportunity to present PowerPoint slides to the P1510 thus also for the office area well suited. The technical data are but otherwise identical to the Acer H6520, this is only available in white, priced models are both very close to each other.
The picture is for a projector in this price range, very very neat! In both 2D and 3D. Basically, I dark from the room for a movie ever, because 3500 ANSI lumens compared to daylight barely, for a presentation, the light intensity is however already very good and usually ranges from completely. Also, the black level is almost perfect, the colors strong and overall the picture razor sharp! The images, which reflects my BluRay player in 24p are played smoothly, even during fast motion / panning is a motion blur visible only with great difficulty, if at all. A rainbow effect I could not find so far.
The playback of 3D content works now smoothly after some initial difficulties. The 3D mode has namely each time be activated by remote control and will not turn off automatically, 2D content (trailers or possibly even the menu) but this represented quite funny and the picture flickers extremely ... but not of Turns beginning in 3D, it may happen that the BluRay player complains because no 3D playback device was found. As a player, I use a Sony S5100, my glasses are of Vidimensio (I think 4th generation, the importance of support 144Hz). Also very positive that the projector with all tested side-by-Side and Top / Bottom content deal came (MKV on BluRay player), automatic detection does not always work, so best to go into the menu and set firmly on the appropriate format! At this point, however, I must criticize the remote control, the central D-pad button (menu button), does not serve as OK button, as you would expect really, but jumps back to the previous menu (ie a back button). To confirm you have to press the button-to-right.
To increase the lifetime of the lamp, the hunting should always be activated in the menu. Upon delivery to the projector when you turn off immediately switches off, this can be changed but fortunately, then the fan runs for 2 min. after, until the device switches off. The volume is 33 dB or 27 in Eco Mode higher than expected but bearable. When you turn it blows once properly, then the volume adjusted to a manageable level, barely noticeable while you watched a movie at the ceiling. The cooling phase is relatively long, if the projector is to be transported in the bag, you have to wait in order to avoid heat accumulation.
Conclusion: Although it is the P1510 rather is by definition an Office-projector, the projector is also suitable for home theater without compromising, since the technology inside (looking at the technical data) is identical to the H6520. The P1510 lacks only the Nvidia 3D Play support.
Apart from a few little things I am completely satisfied with the projector, power and price is right, I forgive a clear conscience good 4 star! Before you buy, be sure to measure and check if the projection ratio adjusts the distance from the screen. The Acer is the ratio from 1.48 to 1.62: 1, ie for a picture width of 200cm requires the projector at a distance between 296-324 cm (zoom factor only 1.09). Both zoom and focus are manually adjustable at the device.
