Operation is incredibly easy: just plug in the USB port, turn on and open Dymo Light.exe, located in the folder that opens through the Autorun. Who does not use autorun, the device is also used in the workplace. The surface looks like a simple word processing software, thus the device is absolutely intuitive. Again you have the options bold, italic, underline. The font of the system are available for selection and font sizes and conciseness are changeable. You can even insert images (useful for icons) and also a screenshot make (on 12mm band?). In the simplest, most unpretentious case you just need only start typing, then press the print button. Even the label comes out of the machine. With the scissors button on the unit itself is separated from the label from the roll.
The housing has a viewing window, so you can see which tape is inserted. The label printer can also open super light. However, I still exchanged no band and therefore do not know if this can be just as easily change.
Despite all the enthusiasm about the ease of use I have criticisms:
- The font formatting allows only simple formats: font, size, bold, italic, underline. I'm still missing letter spacing, high / low points, narrow and wide characters
- In multiline pressure (simply Enter for a new line) I lack the ability to adjust the line spacing
- Lack of advanced formatting options have to be restricted to the choice of an appropriate font, unfortunately offers no selection preview as have word-processing programs.
- The printer can not be used without a computer, and only through the included software. The battery contained Lies suggest otherwise, but is probably just to cover the increased demand for electricity during printing, as this would overburden the USB port.
- The resolution of the print head (thermal transfer) is too coarse. Show Current photo printer that this technology is capable of more. But if the writing is then quite pixelated.
- The term is from time to time small errors, ie the coverage is patchy. I still do not know if this might be due to the age of the supplied tape cartridge.
- And finally I find the replacement bands with around 12 euros also quite expensive. In addition, each 1cm border at the beginning and the end are fixed and you can save here no tape or decrease even for aesthetic reasons the edge.
Due to these criticisms the machine receives from me 3 stars.
