Abilities:
As mentioned, in principle all the Vita can. However there is a catch: Since the PSTV represents their image via HDMI on a TV and therefore does not touch display and the control scheme otherwise slightly different, the games and applications have to accept to run on a PSTV. That is, only new games not like Murasaki Baby exploit the unique control scheme of PS Vita run innately. Old games such as Killzone, Dragons Crown, Persona 4 The Golden or Tales of Hearts R have received a patch to run on the PSTV. But apart from Indi developers and Japanese developers get the PSTV unfortunately received little attention thus far from each game will be made compatible.

Why is the unit of interest to me? (General)
The PSTV offers the opportunity to play games that you missed, even though one may not handhelds because one prefers to play on the PC. In addition, you can order games on TV play, which one has already been acquired by an existing PSN account for PS3 / PS4 / PS Vita / PSP. For example, by PS Plus or Cross Buy. The console is small, silent, fast operating system through which one is faster in the game, as for example on PS3 or PS4. It also has multitasking capabilities to during the game listening to music with friends on PS4 talk, surf the Internet, etc.
Why is the unit of interest to me as a fan of Japanese video games?
The Japanese market is dominated by handhelds. As a German, the most prefers to play on the TV PSTV offers the possibility to play such games on Japanese television. Persona 4 The Golden is in my top 3 of all games and the original P4 ahead, Tales of Hearts R is another example. Through its niche reputation that PS Vita most localizations gets in the shortest time of all platforms (console, handheld or PC).
Disadvantages:
There always has to be a catch yes, right? As described above, the game library of Vita games is limited. Some system-sellers, like Uncharted Golden Abyss or Gravity Rush, fall out of it. Of course there is always the possibility that these games are still made by patches compatible, but if you hear anything long, drops as always hope. This does though hardly on PSP games and PSOne Classics, as they will not need touch inputs or the like, but even here there are examples of games that never had a digital release and still waiting for PSN release, such as Crisis Core or until now recently Suikoden 1 & 2.
What could be seen as "disadvantage" is the fact that the video output only SD, 720p or 1080i output. That is, no 1080p. This is comparable to the resolution of the PS3, although 1080p output, the games internally but only in 540p or 720p (sometimes even fewer lines) rendert.Die PSTV renders the games probably due to dissolution of Vita displays in more than 540p roughly and upscaled to 720p. Vita games look very good on television, with PSP games usually see only the 2D games good. On PSP 3D graphics on the TV so you have to get used to.
I am shocked at how many negative reviews there are PSTV. The device is the most practical and fastest (in terms of operating system, not computing power) console that I ever had. Most negative reviews refer to the Remote Play, which strongly played by the genre and the configuration of the home network dependent and is only one of the many core features of the console. The PSTV therefore my urgent recommendation to buy, but only if they are not primarily bought as a streaming box. Remote Play works surprisingly well depending on the network configuration, but should not be the reason to buy a console.
