Opinion
This book produced in the last two years a lot of attention, but it won 2013 election as Best Young Adult Fiction at Goodreads and was in 2014 nominated for the Michael L. Printz Award. Many of my estimated bloggers are very excited about Rainbow Rowell so that I despite the underdog theme ordered me the book.
Eleanor & Park Reminded me not just what its like to be young and in love with a girl, so but what its like to be young and in love with a book. John Green
The story of Eleanor and Park is told with painful realism here is nothing pink or romantic. The thoughts of Eleanor and Park are so honest and show the inconsistency of feelings. The treated in the book issues are not easy, it is, inter alia, domestic violence, bullying, gender roles and stereotypes. Eleanor's family life is a disaster, while there are a lot of love in the park family in spite of some difficulties. Accordingly, the tale of adversity. The end came for my taste somehow strange, until it seems clear, then the sudden turnaround?
I do not want to write too much more to this book, as it can be described only with difficulty. In addition, I am doing so difficult to assess this book. It's art. But I liked this? Whereby art also does not have fallen, they can instead provoke the target and have to stimulate reflection. And such a case seems to me to be present here as well. It is not a book that I would recommend someone for comfortable reading hours. But if someone wants to read something else, then it is probably the right place.
Conclusion
In a unique narrative style many important social topics embedded in an unusual love story with unique protagonists.
