for my Samsung Smart TV I was looking for a storage medium to the time shift function and be able to use the recording.
The previously connected Philips 3.5-inch USB hard drive was too noisy for the living room.

The WD hard drive makes no noise and fast enough for HD recording. The only drawback is the rather cheap-looking plastic case, but this does not matter for my purpose.
