Once again, a Krups which had to take it in a direct comparison with the "reference instrument" that cooks every day with the most straightforward and at the same time best-tasting coffees. Significantly, also a Krups - to be the EA 8441 exactly. She Late last year our previous Melitta pushed "from their thrones" and falls for me inzwichen clearly into the category of "I do not want to give up." One could think that the EA8108 a difficult position compared with the almost twice as expensive equipment from the same home could have had - but that is not so. In pure "coffee-operation" both units are approximately at the same level - was also to be expected, since the two systems, the Compact Thermoblock System (CTS), the grinder and many other "inner values" share (the performance eg throughout 1450 watts for all devices, there are always more than two cups per cycle cooked, the devices all have automatic cleaning system, height-adjustable spout, 1.7-gallon tank, 15 bar pump pressure, 3-stage metal grinder, 3-stage coffee temperature , 250-280 g large coffee container, Aqua-Filter compatibility and the ability to use a milk system - it's just sometimes not from the outset here). The EA8108 optically and "in the spirit" probably the successor of the EA8000 (incidentally, a cheaper alternative for this machine), belongs to the "lower end" of the range, but differs primarily in the slightly smaller (or smaller) design by premium devices like the EA8441 and can otherwise just the gimmicks off that make up the extra cost for the higher priced devices. What you will not find one that is a display - accordingly there is no option to save your own settings and one has to rely on rather rudimentary settings via rotary knob, instead of being able to now hand over hand with or without touch through LCD menus. Who can live with it (we have for years tolerated the example at a Melitta and are not tuned died), which takes place in the EA8108 good alternative to the expensive devices from Krups. Those who want even cheaper to go into the Krups-world, who sees himself holding times at the EA8000. Clear lack of EA8108 course even more gimmicks compared to the large "brothers": The Cappuccino Plus nozzle EA8108 of foam in the cup on (the milk must therefore be already there), while at the Super Cappuccino functions " major "devices the milk is sucked via hose. The result is nevertheless similar - though perhaps only 95% of the power of the "big ones". I think that's acceptable. Even in comparison to the "big" somewhat less fancy "bins" for the coffee grounds makes the carbon non-greasy - will also find the large equipment not shine ... it is generally more common on the tank-empty than the competition - this is the chance of Schimmel & Co niederiger and you will be relieved by CTS and automatic cleaning system almost entirely of worrying about the inner workings of the machine. It would anyway not tuned - Krups machines are sealed off almost hermetically. What compared to the competition with all devices from Krups, which I had so lacked was the ability to use a coffee. Melitta example allows for often an inlet. Sometimes quite handy. That it lacks, it goes with me the world but not under. The coffee flavor is in the Krups devices generally very good (also depends on the coffee, clear), coffee can be delivered very quickly in high temperatures - oh, and one of the larger devices, the so disturbing "flushing" at unit start sometimes skip. When EA8108 I have not yet found a way, but that is probably due to my tunnel vision when it comes to coffee machines: you have done for me, what is important to me: make coffee. My wife, who is more likely to dairy specialties, has also found your favor at the EA8108 - the milk hose of the EA8441 has namely also disadvantages: you have to clean it cumbersome. The fall off in the EA8108. I'll make my machine in the coming weeks more intense. It is operated at the moment in continuous operation in addition to our actual machine. Should I stand out here a little, I will of course add to it yet. Compared with the competition Krups is in my eyes after the current "long-term test" (I now had a total of just over a year changing Krups machines in use) very well since. The devices make no funny business, are very (!) Low maintenance and ergonomically well thought out. A bit annoying is always rear-mounted water tank - you have always access to the machine "around" to get to the container.
Conclusion: I would spontaneously it 5 stars due to the price-performance. The essential "Krups features" are present and make this machine a real enrichment. Even - and especially - when compared to the more expensive equipment from the same manufacturer.
