First of all I would like to say that I, when I learned that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for 3DS / Wii U and do not appear for PSP Vita, a little (okay a little VLT understated ^^) was disappointed I had after I had already Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Monster Hunter 2nd G gesuchtet on the PSP (together nearly 2000 hours of play) much on the 3 G or 3 Ultimate happy because I was of the opinion that the control almost perfectly for Vita, which is now at last 2 Control Sticks had and looking at the camera no longer move with the forefinger of his left hand, while with his left hand this very same time the character would steered (* lol *) fit.
And compared to the 3DS features which only a control pad, a clear advantage is.
But I trusted Capcom, because eventually they will already know what they're doing, and that was certainly not a mistake.
I bought a Wii and Monster Hunter Tri to familiarize myself again in the matter and was pleasantly surprised by my decision was made, a 3DS was needed (because I prefer the true multiplayer gaming (offline) and it's only possible with the 3DS )
Then, when a month ago appeared the demo I was confirmed again in my decision, the idea to develop the game on the 3DS / Wii U was truly awesome.
The 3DS has compared to the PSP the clear advantage of the 2 screens is really used extremely useful in this game. The player can determine what is displayed on the lower screen, whether the card, the life bar, the status of the group etc. everything as if it were Not enough is when you can see the map on the bottom screen, for example, they removed from the top screen, you can even make the entire upper screen free of ads and display anything on the bottom, which gives a clear view.
An overview of the things that can be displayed on the lower screen:
- The "second" Control Pad to control the camera, for all who do not own Circle Pad Pro (in 3 sizes)
- Life bar (with stamina and sharpness of the weapon in 2 sizes)
- Status of the group
- Map
- Object bar (in 2 sizes)
- Coatings for bows
- Backpack (from which you can then objects use a "click" on the screen at once)
- Occurs
- Signals (to be used for your two little helpers)
- Autolock function for large monsters
and possibly even more may be that I have forgotten something.
Anyway, actually nothing to be desired and you can his screen at will put together a dream for me and for many others certainly.

Camera:
I have not bought the game to the Circle Pad Pro XL, which is an enhancement of camera control with it, it is necessary not, however, largely because it uses the Autolock function
It is helpful, however, especially underwater, time you need the camera to be able to execute targeted attacks
(Autofocus brings nothing or little more, if you want to attack target specific areas of the monster.)
In general, I must say that the camera somehow bumpy controls and so sometimes can be a bit annoying, especially underwater, but can still endure. On land, the camera is not a problem most of the time and there almost only the autofocus function is always used (which is a real boon)
One point deduction for the underwater camera.

Graphics:
Even though I'm not a fan of graphic drivel, I nevertheless have to say that I am quite surprised by the graphics on the 3DS, is pleasing to the eye and runs very smoothly.
Games on the 3DS XL could imagine that it on the normal 3DS again a bit better on the resolution, but then you have a smaller screen.
You can not complain!
(4.5 / 5)
Scope:
The scope is really a dream and the people who always write that there is no increase to Tri and a purchase would not be worthwhile, which is said, which this well so not true.
We're talking about a game whose scope is unparalleled, anywhere you get well for his money as much scope as in Monster Hunter.
One needs to ~ to complete the game to play through 700-800 hours, something like that, there are certainly not as common for 40 (3DS version)
There is finally all 12 weapon in one game!
- Greatsword
- Longsword
- Shield & Sword
- Double Blade
- Hammer
- Hunting Horn
- Lance
- Gun lance
- Morph-ax
- Light Crossbow
- Heavy Crossbow
- Bow
all of which are playable both on land and underwater!
To the knowledge of the series, there is now finally back G-Rank Quests!

Fun factor and long-term motivation:
Well as with almost any other game, especially in multiplayer.
I am now at ~ 75 hours of play after 6 days, that says it all;)

For newcomers to the series may well be beneficial to read the electronic manual before playing, as you get in here right in the same game, certainly for connoisseurs advantageous
probably not easy for newcomers.
As soon as one is, however, once inside you will appreciate the game a lot and certainly not so easily give of his hands.
In its entirety, it is for this game from me 5 stars and I recommend it to anyone just put your heart into, I borrowed gained a 3DS for MH3U and do not regret it, also it also a wealth of other ingenious games for 3DS there would then have gone through my lobes.
A Wii U but I would not probably buy (too expensive and not a fan of online multiplayer) but that is up to you.
