To install the card's really nothing to say. Slot cover out, card in, tighten, done.
However, the driver setup the monopolistic variety appears to include only after I had separated from the computer disables the onboard sound in BIOS and my Line6 TonePort UX1, the driver could be installed, before I got after a long wait without activity the message that it was not Asus Xonar hardware has been found. If the drivers are installed but for now, also the onboard sound can be activated again and connect the TonePort.
Completely incomprehensible to me, however, that the Xonar always provided only one exit with sound: If you select the digital output, the analog outputs remain behind the front panel mute and vice versa. My Realtek onboard Quäke provides for each output its own default Windows audio device and makes me so even choose to run that application on which output etc.
Why do we then also just the Mic In combination with the SPDIF out is beyond me. If I can spend anyway either analog or digital, then why not combine an analog output with SPDIF out and makes me so even with digital sound output, a microphone use?
Positive should be noted that the card produces really pleasant sound and the "Xonar D1 Audio Center" provides extensive and meaningful ways to adjust. Therefore, overall a good purchase because the card fully served its purpose for me. The onboard Quäke now fired the external receiver digital, the Xonar D1 the headset, I'm satisfied.
