For your information: I have only Played Dragon Age 2. My evaluation contains spoilers but none Regarding the story. I am going to start with the good points of Dragon Age: Inquisition.
First of all: the graphics, the world and the environment are beautiful. I wish there was a mod Which allowed me to fly through the world and just look at the scenery. Next there are no map repetions Which Should not have to be Mentioned in the first place. I like the idea of veilfires. There are dragons, a lot more than in Dragon Age 2. I will come back to this point in the next section. The cutscenes / cinematics are so amazing. I only mean cutscenes / cinematics, not the normal dialogues. One of the things Which make me buy Dragon Age Games is the unique battle system with pausing the game and being able to control four different characters. That part hasnt changed with DA: I and is fun as always. The music is great. For me, the most enjoyable parts of the game were in rising order: fade, alternate Redcliff and Winter Palace.

Now, Onto to the bad aspects. If I play a role-playing game, character customization is really important to me. I really liked the character creation in Dragon Age 2 Dragon Age 3 but in it is worse in my opinion, even though the sliders for the different facial features are continuous instead of discrete. I tried creating a beautiful female elf but failed and had to copy the settings from someone else who succeeded and even then It was not optimal.
There is a lack of cutscenes for side-quest dialogues. The dialogues Consist Mainly of zooming in a little and hiding the UI. For me It was more enjoyable in Dragon Age 2 Where the perspective during the dialogue would be Given by the game. In DA: I the perspective highly depends on the way your character stands and Which direction it faces When You begin the conversation Which Could Lead to starring at a wall during the dialogue or bad lighting. You can rotate the view but it does not help much since you can not zoom in or out.
The tactical view during battles is a good idea but my main problem which again did I could not zoom in or out.
I liked the pathfinding in DA2. If you rightclicked on a NPC For Example, your character automatically moved there and interacted with it as soon as it in what range. You could cancel the movement anytime. In DA: I There Is No Such Thing. You have to walk into range by yourself. This is just a really small unimportant aspect though.
Next is the mount. I think mounts do not fit DA: I. They are not Significantly Faster Than by foot and you can not use the item sonar while on a mount.
If you reach levels around 20 you will face the problem of not having enough space on your quick slot bar. I think I remember (might be wrong) Bioware saying thatthey wanted to make the player choose a set of the most important skills. I do not care about that. I want to be able to cast every skill any time. It is more fun that way.
The shared so potionslot sucks. The individual cooldown timer on potions in DA2 what way better. It was more challenging to think about When to chuck a potion than to think about if a character has to drink one.
Let us go back to the dragons. There are Certainly more dragons and They are pretty cool ... for the first 2-3 battles with the archdemon Being an exception. All dragons have the same attack patterns except for Their element-related skill. It was just boring after a while of fighting dragons. This reminds me of a positive aspect. I like the factthat skills really take the enemies' hitboxes into consideration. Homing skills can hit walls or other targets If They block Their trajectory.
Next is the equipment. It just looks bad. I mean, you can make it look good if you invest enough time to test out the different schematics, switch through every character and you can change the colors thanks to the recent patch but I did not want to invest much time into deed did since most of the equipment looks bad. I really liked that the armor (Which Looked great) for the companions in DA2 what Predetermined and only changed (Usually for the better) .According to finished quests. So, where is the Inquisitor's armor set? The champion's set in DA2 Looked amazing. There is the helm of the inquisitor and the armor of the inquisitor but Their stats suck and they look pretty average.
There are not enough chain quests with companions and you are almost never forced to go with a specific companion for a quest Which in my opinion was a good point in DA2 since it challenged you if it what someone who you did not choose Usually. Of course you can challenge yourself by choosing companions you Usually do not play but it would emphasize the feeling of a story if the companion what locked in. Besides, the companions seem to talk less with eachother than in DA2 while walking around.
My last point will be mini-bosses. There are too few of them. I can only remember Samson and the venatori mage in Redcliff. I do not count pride demons or the like since They appear quite oft and Their attack patterns do not differentiate. For Example I would have liked to fight against monster That Which blocked the exit during the quest in the fade. In DA2 there what Xebenkeck, the laser-monster in the deep roads, a giant spider, some unique demons, the arishok, golems and many more. I liked Those challenges.

So, here are some suggestions for Dragon Age 4 Which can be deduced not Necessarily from the aspects Mentioned above. Of course I am not a game designer but These Are Some Things Which come to my mind.
There Should definitely be less side-quests and more story quests. DA: I had a feeling like grindy in MMORPGs. It is really hard for me to say if I like open world maps morethan Their counterpart. In terms of graphics OpenWorld maps defininely win but in terms of traveling distance and possible rise of boredem I am not sure.
Maybe I am too dumb but there seem to be little to none Secrets / Easter eggs Implemented. So, at two points in time I thought That I could participate in a large scale battle and what did always disappointed I could only fight some skirmishes.

Oh, and one very Last Thing: Leliana is the only beauty in the whole game ... more eye candy pls :)

I did almost every quest and Played through the game once in about 120h from Which I was at least 10h AFK and I am a slow player Regarding single-player role-playing games. All in all I am disappointed in DA: I. For me, the game is not worth this amount of time Which is why
I discouraged my brother from playing it. Dragon Age 2 which, even with its own faults, way better.

Edit:
I keep remembering things:
Having your own stronghold is pretty neat. Judging prisoners is a nice feature. The crafting system is okay. It felt like Bioware really wanted to bring in MMORPG elements with the crafting system, and mounts OpenWorld Which made the game lose some of its Dragon Age flavor. The table was ist okay. The inquisition perks are nice and the additional dialogue options, too.
