Among the qualities of its predecessor / sister model Yongnuo YN-560 II Speedlite flash for Canon / Nikon DSLR camera was already written enough. Version III is this in every way that is even here is it is a low-cost, powerful and solid flash that however only has a manual power control, but which can be operated in very fine gradations.
The version -III here has as an additional feature a receiver for signals from RF-602 and RF-603 radio triggers already eingebaut.Man saves as a separate wireless receiver, which indeed makes things currently not cheaper, but more compact and stable in construction. In conjunction with an RF-602 I could try this successfully already, both on a Sony Alpha SLT-A57 and Nikon P7100 compact camera. This clean flash sync speeds of 1/200 and 1/500 on the Sony at the Nikon are possible.
The second change is now the "Multi" function (strobe lights flashing with 1-100 1-100 Hz) an option in modes M, radio, instead of an independent modes. There is now an extra button that was taken of the Zoom feature: Not separated "+" and "-" there is only one button, with the zoom position can be changed only in the direction, namely up, and to 105mm 24mm then comes back. This is probably the only, tiny handling disadvantage compared to the model II. And, unfortunately, you can still continue to not use the strobe funtion as its predecessor in the optical trigger modes S1 and S2.
Conclusion
A worthwhile purchase for owners of RF-602 / RF-603 radio triggers: (! Compare Prices) at about the same cost compared to model II with external radio-trigger results in a more robust solution. If you have no radio trigger, the need even in a single invest "RF transceiver 603 additional" in order to trigger this flash can; a complete set of two is to not compels!
If you have not to use before the aforementioned radio trigger, you do not have advantages over its predecessor, and should then be better -II take the next available version because it saves the extra cost!
