I tested the Buddy for several days. My initial enthusiasm gave way, however, quickly. The blue status LED flashes simply annoying. Every few seconds there is a flashing sequence, the sequence of which is reminiscent of the landing lights of an airplane. The light also penetrates through the side vents to the outside and was therefore thrown back at me from the headliner. As I drive quite a few overland routes without much ambient light, the flashing particularly struck me. According request from the buddy support there is also no possibility to switch off the flashing.
My reflections to mount the device on the passenger side or the back of the sun visor or anywhere else I just like the idea discarded mask off the flashing LED. I want a device that I can use optimally without workarounds and limitations. The Buddy therefore went back.
As a substitute I chose the Parrot MINIKIT +. This is a bit clumsy, but plays in a different league than the Buddy. Voice dialing, voice output and the automatic switching when the car door is simply awesome. Although Oh, it also flashes, but much less intrusive.
