I have now had many years only Iphones in use, simply for the reason that there was nothing comparable in the size class (I can this hype by still larger displays not understand).
Power:
The Z1c runs in any situation (leistungstechnisch) and the iPhone 5s definitely rank from. Waiting times when loading apps I have not had even the loading of web pages is very fast and makes just plain fun. And yet, it sucks the battery is not empty really fast when the power fully exploited (eg in games or videos).
Wi-Fi is fast and there are no interruptions (Fritz box 7490 in use) as it behaves with all other wireless standards. In addition, it has here in Munich much better reception than my iPhones it had (D1 network). Exact measurement data but I have not looked at is not even necessary.
Style:
I think this is the only true shortcoming which has this phone. It has been so easy to feel that the Z1c a bit copied from the Iphone 4 but unfortunately it did not quite reach the perfect design in my opinion. The borders around the display are simply too generous so it can be operated not quite as comfortable in one hand like an iPhone (the operation is still without problems even with one hand and I do not have the biggest hands). At the back there was now repeatedly discussions which I can not understand, however, is definitely to glass but is there a factory break protector on it why one or the other could have identified it as a sculpture. The buttons for the volume and for the camera I think, unfortunately, from the second stage and not really successful in terms of size and whether they survive a constant use long I do not know here is, unfortunately, somewhat sloppy. Nevertheless, the Z1c is of the optics, a thoroughly successful mobile phone which does not need to hide from an Iphone (since I value the design there was for me to date only the Iphone). However, if you look for the perfect design and workmanship is one of a Iphone better off but in this case dispensed with great benefits that provides the Z1c (more on that later).
Display:
Apparently Sony were two different displays AOU installed, JDI (in my a JDI's) where the AOU is weakening apparently. The resolution is from my subjective point of view is far better than the iPhone, however, has already fallen to me better on the iphone the White and Black representation lot (probably because of the technology) but also what is simply a matter of habit. Otherwise, the display does not goof and may well be one of the best display which I have seen in a mobile phone to date are referred. Even in bright sunshine it provides enough brightness to be able to still read everything.
Battery:
The battery is probably the coolest on the device because this just does not limp. My Iphone I had from the beginning to charge daily definitely and after one year the charging cable was always there. I really do a lot with the Z1c and come without problems for two days under extreme use (Bluetooth headset for hours, Games, Whatsapp, etc). I have brought it to a display of On time 9:27 hrs which is a really remarkable value. So when it comes to the battery, it is a strong buy recommendation (if you consider the performance to which the small part)
OS:
Clear Android is no IOS and thus not entirely user-friendly as an IOS, but it also offers a lot of possibilities more and it is not for each file that you want to transfer iTunes or similar required. It comes every now and again the point where I my IOS would like back, but then comes back where what I realized is that would not have gone with IOS. It really depends on the preferences of each user. The Perfect OS is you probably find anywhere.
Camera:
Yes the tiresome topic which in one or the other forum is hochgestachelt how stupid and quite honestly I can not quite understand it. I have shot some photos lately and can not really say whether it makes better or worse photos now (very dark in confined spaces) prevail as an Iphone good when special lighting conditions and it is hoped the lightning loses Z1c against the Iphone which I but also have to say see pictures of phones with Flash forced to k .. from there every 50 Digicam is better. Without flash the part already makes very good pictures to those of the iPhone in no way inferior.
Features:
The memory expansion via SD is a big hit, as every Iphone user can only afterwards thirst (so it went to me in any case). It is no problem with the SDXC card without reformatting to FAT32 rightly (which is anyway not recommended for the size of risk of data loss, etc.).
Waterproof! Yes I had to try because I see new phones whatsoever as new toys and watch as I can take my cell phone in the bath (whether that is useful or not remains undecided) it immediately. I had always used to be afraid to use in the pouring rain, the Iphone so I have to stop worrying about now. For me, in the design and a unique selling point!
Conclusion:
Specifically designed for iPhone users who simply can not find any alternative / could the Z1c a thoroughly gelungeneres device and still cheaper to worlds. The mobile phone is great in the hand, has power (let's see if Apple's 64 bit in mobile phones eventually paid off so far this is not the case), memory is expandable (with SDXC + 64GB to about 11GB one has ex works), It is waterproof !, the display is super, Android can be far better personalize as eg an IOS, the voice quality is at the same high level as the iPhone and all this does the battery last a lot longer than the iPhone (it is not just quite as compact and stylish as the apple). Oh yes the speaker Z1c is perfectly adequate and I would just say just as bad as the iPhone (is also not a boom box for handsfree is it loud and clear enough (if you have bathed it hears it ne time dull to not worry since only the grid before the speaker is full of water that must only be dry is back to normal))
The only real compromise gets it with me for the hardware buttons, to generous margins around the display and the camera (fogging in dark places because the flash could have been prevented easily).
If Sony retains the concept could Z2c a real Iphone Killer are the Z1c it is not really matter but in many ways, some even better than the iPhone.
I for one will keep the Z1c despite small weaknesses.
For me, a strong buy recommendation for 500 you nothing like it if, however, really gets in the competition each so much power in nem mobile needs must also each themselves to know
PS: Why do I see only with the iphone? Quite simply, there could play that no other compact, well-designed device in this league (no one S3, S4 and so for me not comparable)!

Update:
Sony has changed its white paper, it now seems too be a plastic back. This obscures my view on this unit however. Still a strong buy recommendation.
