I use the dongle for indoor use, between two parts located 12 meters apart from each other, but separated by two walls rather thick concrete. Before, with several traditional dongles, my network was considered by the Wi-Fi Manager of Windows as weak and was extremely slow. With TP-Link, it is something else. The network is displayed as excellent, fast and very stable.
However, I faced some problems and I would like to share my experience with you.
- Antenna: The antenna, if it is properly inserted (screwed) and well positioned to router / box is awesome to hang a network. Move a few centimeters can save you a few bars of reception.
- Software: Although very complete like that and the ability to switch to receive mode / transmission in one click, and lots of nice little bonus options, I passed it to me. Indeed, the software does not seem very stable on Windows XP SP3. He planted quite often (the software no longer met). However, it works fine on Windows 7. On Windows XP, I just installed the driver manually, and dongle worked well.
- Fully compatible with the latest technology: Freebox V5 and V6, and router G or N.
I am completely seduced by this dongle, and is the only one I know that is comparable to PCI cards (internal) W-lan.
I have not tested against the emission mode but record indicates that the latter is still better than the reception.
